Ball on chains,[1] also referred to as cogs,[2] are a type of platform found exclusively in the third level of the Mario Zone of Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins, in which they appear in a lighter color and a darker color. The light-colored balls on chains are stationary platforms, but the dark-colored variant moves along the length of the chain for a finite amount of time when Mario jumps on it, eventually flashing and disappearing. These balls on chains have the tendency to move in the path of enemies, such as Bullet Bills and Tatenoko.

Let's get on board before they disappear.

Escalator mechanism in the shape of a ball. That is why the name "Escatama" was given to it. When Mario gets on the escalator, it starts moving, but it disappears after a certain distance. Jump off before it disappears.
