The New Year's Tour is the eighty-sixth tour of Mario Kart Tour, which begins on December 28, 2022 and ends on January 10, 2023. It introduces the R/T variants of multiple returning classic courses, namely GBA Sky Garden, GBA Bowser's Castle 3, Wii Koopa Cape, and GCN Baby Park, making this the first tour since the Vancouver Tour to introduce three or more R/T variants of returning courses, as well as the first tour since the Samurai Tour to only introduce R/T variants and no brand new courses. This is the first tour since the Singapore Tour, the first tour of 2022, to feature SNES Mario Circuit 1, making it the classic course with the longest gap of appearances between tours.

The Holiday Celebration continues from the previous tour and ends in this tour.

The twelfth set of Expert Challenges was introduced in this tour.
