Bowling birds[1] are a species of bowling pin-shaped dodos[2] in Donkey Kong Country Returns and Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D. They appear only in the level Blowhole Bound, where two separate flocks can be encountered on the same island as the checkpoint booth. They are harmless, and the Kongs can roll into them like a bowling ball to take them out. Defeating a flock of bowling birds will reward the Kongs with a Banana Coin. If the Kongs pound the ground around bowling birds, they tremble.
