Rare, shiny variants can also appear in place of the regular Paper Koopa Troopas in the same areas. These Koopa Troopas have greater stats and will always drop a Super Mushroom or Shiny Battle Card when defeated, though their methods of attack remain the same. Stronger versions of a shiny Paper Koopa Troopa can also appear alongside Shiny RoboBowser during the battle, which have even greater stats and has a chance of dropping a Double 1-Up Mushroom upon defeat.
