Re: Arms/Tentacles
In cephalopods, "tentacle" refers solely to the paired long appendages on squid that have a leaf-shaped area with spikes or suction cups on the ends of a long, cupless line. "Arm" refers to the shorter, triangular appendages with suction cups covering the entire bottom side that all cephalopods have. Octopuses have 8 arms and 0 tentacles, and squid have 8 or 10 arms, depending on exact species, and 2 tentacles. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 01:31, 11 April 2018 (EDT)
MVDK Last Two Expert Levels
I saw you were having a little trouble with the last two expert levels in Mario vs. Donkey Kong. I don't own the game myself, but did you complete the first ten expert levels (collect all presents and beat all high scores)? If not, perhaps that might be the reason they weren't unlocked. LuigiMaster123 00:53, 13 April 2018 (EDT)
- Yeah, I haven't beaten any of the Expert levels yet, so that may be it. I'm dumb and forgot there were Presents in those levels, so collecting all Presents could still be a requirement. Doesn't look like there are any high scores to beat, though, so that's good! 11:09, 13 April 2018 (EDT)
Grrrols
Grrrols and Thwomps are strikingly similar when placed side-by-side..... Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 13:40, 13 April 2018 (EDT)
Level images
I don't think the level selection screenshots are better. I expressly chose screenshots that encapsulate the basic elements and atmosphere of their worlds; the screenshot on the right, for example, has hanging chains, lava, and flame-throwing Shy Guys, just what's highly representative for Fire Mountain and gives the player a direct idea about it. Besides, the level menus look repetitive to me, and the article really should show more of the game itself. I hope you understand. -- -- KOOPA CON CARNE 15:42, 14 April 2018 (EDT)

Rocky Wrench
Why can a sea slug be derived from a bat and an alien octopus be derived from a shiitake it looks nothing like, but a mole cannot be derived from the turtle/mole that now seems to be just mole that it was named after and that came before it? Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 13:31, 17 April 2018 (EDT)
- Who knows. 14:21, 17 April 2018 (EDT)
- The point is if it works for all of them, it should work here too, otherwise there's arbitrariness going on. As Link-The-Lefty pointed out, Choropoo seems to mean "Poo that darts around" (as stupid as that sounds in English...) Hence, it is named to be a specific variation of Poo, and variations of previous things are, by definition, derivative. Hence, Monty Mole is derivative of Rocky Wrench, according to official nomenclature, and saying otherwise is defying said official nomenclature. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 17:20, 17 April 2018 (EDT)
- I've rebutted your expanded response, which hilariously enough seems to have used my own words. Anyways, your response still seems to hinge on "derived" being biological, which it is not. It means "based upon." The designers were pretty obviously going for a variant thereof, a thing that players would connect to a thing they'd seen before, as the name doesn't just hint, but ultimately proves beyond any doubt at all. The name Choropoo is basically "Scuttling Rocky Wrench." And the current infobox layout says that "Rocky Wrench" was initially based off of the "Scuttling Rocky Wrench" which came three years later, which makes no sense whatsoever. EDIT: And I see you responded. As have I, as have I. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 22:09, 17 April 2018 (EDT)
- I agree that there is definitely some confliction of information here, or lack of information altogether, but I don't believe a proposal was the right course of action here without any real definitive proof to back the claim. As I said, the Japanese name is a start, but I don't think it is enough to solidify anything. If there is an official bio somewhere, Japanese or English or otherwise, then that would be enough. 22:14, 17 April 2018 (EDT)
- I'd say there's about as much as Buzzy Beetle and Magmus. One's a turtle, the other's some sort of rock thing (that appears to have eight feet, take that SMW Spike Top!) that has a Japanese name that says it's a Buzzy. They also tend to be listed together, like on that Japanese SM3DL .pdf, where Choropoo, Goropoo, and Poo were all listed together (with Poo additionally being away from the main Kame on the list, Nokonoko). Then there's the fact that they share models in all recent 3D games featuring both... Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 22:21, 17 April 2018 (EDT)

- I've posted it a few times. I misremembered something too: Rocky is fairly well distanced from five Koopas, which are on the opposite page; Spiny is the only "close" one. Anyways, I've checked, and the word "Choropoo" never comes up in Poo's description, so it's probably not a variant of it...anyways, here it is again: [1] Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 22:26, 17 April 2018 (EDT)
- So Mario jc translated it for me (because I suck at Japanese :P) and yeah, the two don't reference each other. The names are similar, as are the appearances of the two, but I would still prefer some kind of official statement between the relations. 22:59, 17 April 2018 (EDT)
- Y'all might be askin' a tad much, there. Pretty sure there's no official statement regarding this enemy's relation to this one, this one, or this one, but it's pretty obviously there. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 23:14, 17 April 2018 (EDT)
- The major reason why I'm asking for an official statement is because of Rocky Wrench's redesign, making it now resemble a Monty Mole. It may share a name and design now, but that wasn't always the case. I'm looking, but I'm not finding a statement, so until one is provided or I find one on my own, we're at an impasse. 23:19, 17 April 2018 (EDT)

Re: Userspace
Okay, you got me there. Rules are rules, and I missed that one. Quoting directly from the rules is not nitpicking at all, and it would be ridiculous of me to suggest that.
But before you go ahead and delete the subpages, I would like to point out a few things. I have also notified Steve, since he is the authority on what I am discussing.
- Creating new pages has barely any overhead, especially considering that Mediawiki stores every previous revision of a page. Based on the export XML, creating a new page only has the additional fields
title
,ns
, andid
(but there are probably a few others.) - Database memory is not being saved by deleting pages. The page is still saved in the database, and can be restored at any time. Of course, you could always pursue permanent deletion if you really wanted to save memory, but this is not a standard handling procedure for normal page deletion.
- And perhaps most importantly, this particular rule was added as a minor edit without any discussion that I can find. I do not think the ramifications of this particular rule were carefully considered.
The main things the user page rules are trying to be prevented are spam and using userpages as a personal repository for non Mariowiki-related things. The only reason I can think of for this rule is a fear of userspace rules evasion through overflow with an extremely large number of pages. But that's what patrollers are for: edits by non-trusted users are specifically reviewed to ensure rules aren't broken.
If there's no other problems arising from this, then it's just a difference in personal preference. While I could put everything on my main user page (very easily), I want the edit history of sections to be individually preserved in a cohesive way. I see no reason to dilute these edits into one stream if there's little overhead from creating new pages. --The Retro Gamer 21:29, 27 April 2018 (EDT)
- My main contention is that you haven't really given a clear reason for the rule. If there's an admin forum board, you should ask there if you can quote from it regarding this rule.
- The only explanation you've really added to the discussion is "It's to prevent several pages that serve no purpose to the wiki other than personal records." But carried to its logical extreme, that would mean every previous revision of everyone's userpage should be deleted, since they "serve no purpose to the wiki other than personal records". It's not that I have any huge problem with this rule, but I feel like you're not addressing my actual point, which can be distilled down to what's the difference between page revisions and new pages? Presumably it's a maintenance issue of some kind?
- Also, I mentioned Porplemontage to ensure I was speaking accurately about page overhead. --The Retro Gamer 22:48, 27 April 2018 (EDT)
- Ah, so the real goal is to decrease the number of userpage edits, or rather to ensure that a user is generally productive on the wiki rather than obseessed with their userspace. But I disagree with this pure edit number bean counting. The problem is, table formatting can be a a tricky thing, and many edits are necessary to ensure the tables are properly tested and tweaked to perfection. Of course, the templates are a whole other issue, and perhaps they do not contribute towards the final vision of the page, but it all has a content (presentational) oriented goal in mind. I could balance my edit count out by fixing grammar on many random pages, but I'm currently pursuing how to best present the DKC information. --The Retro Gamer 23:36, 27 April 2018 (EDT)
- Allow me to clarify: CSS table formatting can be tricky. The original wikitable CSS is ridiculously element specific (making it difficult to override inline), and instead of replacing it, I tried to supplement and override it with
dktable-brown
. I have now corrected that mistep, though more tweaking is needed for optimal control. Also, see my most recent comment to User talk:Porplemontage (though you probably already saw it in Special:RecentChanges). --The Retro Gamer 23:53, 27 April 2018 (EDT)- We're kind of in an awkward position here. I would prefer to keep the user subpages, the rules are against. Obviously, you have the full authority to delete them at any point, but it seems the lack of discussion resolution would make that a bit awkward.

- I think it would be useful to discuss this further:
You are allowed to have a userpage so editors, and sometimes readers, can get to know you better. But the excessiveness of user subpages that could very easily just be included on your main userpage is just largely, and I know I've used this a lot recently, unnecessary. The main reason is that userspace edits are supposed to come second to mainspace edits. Having your personal lists and information on one page can help reduce the number of edits you make to your userspace; having them each on separate pages would increase those edits. So, yeah, it would be a maintenance reason, to keep edits of userspace pages to a minimum.
- One issue I think needs further discussion is the notion of edit counts. Edit counts are in some ways a worthless metric because they don't tell one the substance or context of those edits. One can always encourage less edits, but that doesn't mean that strategy will be the most productive way to edit. My ultimate goal when editing is not to minimize the number of edits, but to minimize the amount of time I spend editing any particular thing. In many cases, reducing the number of edits will reduce the amount of time, but sometimes many edits are necessary to quickly preview a change, particularly to preview CSS: CSS output can't be seen without saving the change to the CSS and going to another page. Generally also, I think the management of userspace edits beyond what is deemed actively harmful or sufficiently off-topic is a dangerous direction to go with the rules. Because you're not really encouraging more productivity by doing this, you're just throwing a monkey wrench into my flow.
- I also think you should avoid the "I don't see a reason" and "unnecessary" arguments, because they seem to suggest your opinion of how to manage my userspace should have greater weight than my own. I do see a reason. Saying something is unnecessary isn't a strong argument for not doing something. I do not think continuing to bring those arguments will further the discussion.
- Basically I guess my argument boils down to: If I find the subpages useful (or think it may have potential to be useful), and it's not harmful to the wiki, what's the problem with allowing me to manage them in the way I want? I think this will come down to the definition of "harmful", though. --The Retro Gamer 19:14, 28 April 2018 (EDT)
- Preference and rules are 2 separate areas: I have made my preference clear, but in this power relationship, I am a user and the rules have already been established, so obviously they will have precedence. Disagreeing with a rule doesn't mean I won't follow it.
- I'm not ignoring the rules. Nowhere in the rules does it says a user must nominate their own pages for deletion if they're in violation of the rules. It is up to your discretion whether to delete or delay deletion, since you are the active admin involved in this issue. --The Retro Gamer 19:50, 28 April 2018 (EDT)
- You have not slacked; you made a earlier judgement call not to delete immediately. This had its benefits and downsides: as a benefit, we were able to delve further into the rationales for the rule, which was useful for me. Perhaps a better approach would been an initially firm message telling me you would delete the subpages soon (and then deleting them after I acknowledged the message), but still being open to discussion.
- As you have said, the more proper procedure to formally dispute rules is proposals, not talk pages (though talk page discussions can help to clarify). I have no problem with rules, I do personally prefer to understand the reasons for the rules, but that does not change your job to enforce the rules as an admin. I'm sorry if this has been disruptive; I had no intention of disruption if it was. There are no hard feelings. --The Retro Gamer 21:28, 28 April 2018 (EDT)
Merging page histories?
You have the ability to merge page histories, right? I was wondering if User:The Retro Gamer/dktable sandbox could have its old history merged with User:The Retro Gamer/sandbox. --The Retro Gamer 22:29, 28 April 2018 (EDT)
- Honestly not sure, as I've never done that before. But I'll ask the others, see if they tell me if that's possible or not. 22:31, 28 April 2018 (EDT)
- I think it's Special:MergeHistory, and then you choose which edits from the previous page to merge... but I would also recommend asking the others in case there's some kind of downside (though I don't imagine there is, but it's always good to ask first.) --The Retro Gamer 22:36, 28 April 2018 (EDT)

- Um, probably shouldn't go crazy with this. User page histories are one thing, but I don't think article histories should be merged with. There's likely a reason why this hasn't been used before, I think I jumped the gun here :P 22:50, 28 April 2018 (EDT)

Re: Mario Party 64DD
Keep in mind that I don't own a Nintendo 64, 64DD or even Mario Party (the first one in the series) for that matter, so I'm not saying I know everything, but after doing some research (view the links below for additional information), it appears that Mario Party (NTSC-J/PAL) behaves differently than other non-64DD compatible Nintendo 64 games when plugged into the Nintendo 64 (NTSC-J/PAL) when the 64DD (NTSC-J) is plugged in as well.
- Error Code #31 is suppose to imply a "Disk Access Error. Please see the Instruction Booklet. Please press Reset." screen. Which is the screen you get when you boot up Mario Party (PAL) into the Nintendo 64 (PAL) alongside the 64DD (NTSC-J) plugged in when a GameShark cartridge is plugged in as well. Keep in mind that there are many Error Codes depending on both the console's and game's region, and if any other additional accessories are plugged in as well, in this case a GameShark cartridge.
- For example, if you put the Mario Party (NTSC-J) into the Nintendo 64 (NTSC-J) alongside the 64DD (NTSC-J) plugged in, you'll get a Error Code #44 and a "Please replace with correct Disk. Please see the Instruction Booklet. Please press Reset." screen.
- If you put the Mario Party (PAL) into the Nintendo 64 (PAL) alongside the 64DD (NTSC-J) plugged in, you'll get the same Error Code #44 and message just like the Nintendo 64 (NTSC-J) with 64DD (NTSC-J) did, which most other Nintendo 64 games don't do when plugged in the Nintendo 64 alongside the 64DD rather just simply have a blank screen, which both Mario Party (NTSC-J) and Mario Party (PAL) don't do, implying that the 64DD (NTSC-J) is trying to find a disk for Mario Party (NTSC-J) and Mario Party (PAL).
- Though if you put the Mario Party (NTSC-U) into the Nintendo 64 alongside the 64DD (NTSC-J) plugged in, you'll get a blank screen unfortunately, implying that Mario Party (NTSC-U) either works only on a Nintendo 64 (NTSC-U) and 64DD (NTSC-U, which YouTuber Metal Jesus Rocks owns) or lacks the coding to register it all together if it was scraped early in its development. And a blank screen is what you normally get if a Nintendo 64 game isn't compatible with the 64DD (NTSC-J).
Not to mention the fact that Mario Party's code is NUS-CLBE-USA, which is different than other regular Nintendo 64 games (though there are exceptions), with other 64DD games such as Mario Kart 64 and Super Smash Bros. having codes like NUS-NKTE-USA and NUS-NALE-USA respectively. While games like F-Zero X and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (which both have and had plans to be 64DD compatible respectively) have codes like NUS-CFZE-USA and NUS-CZLE-USA respectively, very similar to what a typical 64DD compatible game would be like. So it appears that Mario Party 2 would've originally been an expansion disk (likely called Mario Party Expansion Kit or something) to the original Mario Party, but because the 64DD failed, Nintendo decided to make Mario Party 2 instead of it being an expansion disk or even making more than a single expansion disk to Mario Party itself. That could explain why Mario Party 2 was released roughly 11 months after Mario Party. --Jjrapper100 (talk) 20:16, 15 May 2018 (EDT)

- Supposedly yes, but only for the NTSC-J and PAL versions of Mario Party, which still load up even when a 64DD (NTSC-J) is plugged into the Nintendo 64 as well, showing an Error #44 screen asking to insert the appropriate disk instead of just a blank screen when doing so with the NTSC-U version of Mario Party when a 64DD (NTSC-J) is plugged into the Nintendo 64. And I suppose it is an interesting find I guess. --Jjrapper100 (talk) 20:54, 15 May 2018 (EDT)

Well she yelled at a 10 year old. (that is when I was a foolish person) But anyhow, I never wanted her to get hurt and it made me sad when I saw the news about her. She HAD helped many people, even me. But man, why didn't she just tell me that a site like this is not made for irresponsible 10 year olds? I wish I never had come here until now, when I am more of a mature 13 year old.
Okay. BTW, I have been on this other site so now I think it's time fore me to come back as a changed person.

RE: Merlar Sprite
That is something I did realize. The sprite data doesn't track transparency, as that is the N64 3D rendering hardware's job to apply. I don't know how much transparency to apply. Someone would have to dissect the assembly language of the PM ROM. That is why the other image is requesting a proper screenshot of Madam Merlar (File:Madam Merlar.PNG). --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) (Stats - Contribs) 17:13, 20 May 2018 (EDT)
- The only person readily available to do it would be A gossip-loving Toad (talk), but he disappeared a year or two ago and wanted it to stay that way. I could do it, but I am still in chapter 3 (Boo's Mansion), where I left it a few years ago. The emulation runs slow for me on my laptop, and I just don't have the time anymore to continue the picture replacement project for Paper Mario. I just tagged the image with {{image-quality}}, included with specific instructions. --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) (Stats - Contribs) 17:23, 20 May 2018 (EDT)

RE:Identifiers
I'm referring to what you wrote on Starclimber the Nightwing's talk page:
"While, yes, Donkey Kong is an arcade game, it's more accurate to just call it simply (game), since it's the only game named "Donkey Kong" and no further identification is needed."
Not that I'm opposed to the "(game)" identifier, but...yeah, about that... (T|C) 20:20, 26 May 2018 (EDT)
- ...Huh. Forgot all about that. Not sure if a change is necessary for the arcade game, but if you feel like a discussion should take place, I'm all for it. 20:22, 26 May 2018 (EDT)
- I mean, Donkey Kong (game) is the basis of Donkey Kong (Game Boy), so personally I think the current, non-specific name is fine as it is. Mario JC 02:51, 27 May 2018 (EDT)

- He knew this, so his information came from somewhere. He also could've replied he did or didn't have the game, rather than outright ignoring me. Didn't seem to be getting the hint on italics, either. 21:04, 27 May 2018 (EDT)
- Given the game is worth $5 yet costs about 12 times that, it's generally safe to assume people don't have it. Whatever, then. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 21:07, 27 May 2018 (EDT)
RE: Mario Races Table
I'd love for it to be placed somewhere, but to tell the truth I've just been doing it for fun. I'm kinda a nerd when it comes to Mario characters and just felt like making a list of all the known "races" in the Mario games. I've tried to be canon with it though and not using characters that would just count as animals (Able to speak, Walks on two legs, has a government, competes in different competitions, etc) I do hope it has some use to the wiki though. GoombaBroadcast (talk) 19:10, 28 May 2018 (UTC)
What if I was to sort them by franchise though? Would that help make things easier? (P.S. Nintendo really should consider making the RPGs canon, excluding Sticker Star and Color Splash which could be Spin-Offs.) GoombaBroadcast (talk) 19:44, 28 May 2018 (UTC)

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Statistics
Hello. I know that you and another member have been reverting my edits about changing the code names used in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe in-game statistics. I would like to know why these edits were reversed since there is nothing else on the page that uses the code names. For example, all of the Kart parts which do have different names in the code, yet they all use their English names. Also, at the time, the statistics for Mario Kart 8 on the Wii U page had the Characters's English Names rather than their code names until the edit war, so it would seem logical to reverse it. Also, why would the Character's code be useful anyway? Especially compared to the English names. I am rather new to Mario Wiki and I do not intend on causing edit wars, drama, spamming etc. I do want to help but please may I ask why it was reversed since I am still unsure why the codenames are used. I would be most grateful if I can be told why. Thank You. 79.67.209.35 17:35, 5 June 2018 (EDT)

RE:Identifier
Actually, no, the policy says nothing that says the identifiers in this scenario are acceptable; maybe the same type of thing in the same game, but not this. Additionally, the "(bear)" identifier (and other cases like the Herman disambiguation page) are the exact reasons I disagree with you. Even if DKC3's Boomer is a bear to some extent, it's not like it's confirmed that he's a bear. (T|C) 19:19, 7 June 2018 (EDT)
- For all we know, he could be another animal in disguise. Also, since "bear" is a generic subject, I'm a bit hesitant to have that be the identifier. Lastly, I think you might have the wrong idea (no offense); even if they're different types of characters, it's worth noting that A. the "different types" clause usually only applies to sporting arenas, and B. the Herman scenario makes your argument a bit more contentious.
- At this point, I would suggest starting a larger discussion concerning this. (T|C) 19:51, 7 June 2018 (EDT)
- Interesting... I don't see anything supporting your argument in Piranha Plant (disambiguation). If you were referring to Piranha Plant (potted), that's because it appears in multiple series, and the games (Super Mario 3D World especially) treat its type interchangeably anyways, making it similar to the Spiny Shell case; i.e., it's normally an item, but in Super Mario 3D World, it behaves like an obstacle when it's not used, and is defeated like a regular enemy. Also, I don't understand your counterargument with Herman; I wasn't talking about Smirch, but rather the other two characters named Herman, as they appear in the television series, not the comics. Peach/Toadstool on Super Mario Advance.
I know that the game refers to her simply as Peach, but when we are referring to the characters for the first time in the articles we generally refer to them with their full title. I've seen the manual for SMA and it simply refers to her as just "Peach" casually or the "princess" so we can't put down "Princess Peach". It makes more sense to use "Princess Toadstool" which is her older moniker from the original NES version and the SNES All-Stars version since we're coming off the earlier versions of Super Mario Bros. 2. The game itself is still Super Mario Bros. 2 at its core. It just seems awkward when we later state that she is referred to as Peach later in the article. --99.227.180.3 20:09, 26 June 2018 (EDT)

- Because a lot of the information DKWiki has (if I had to guess, maybe 90% of it) is shared with the SMWiki. It just makes more sense to merge them into one than have two wikis in NIWA that cover the same thing. 12:40, 27 June 2018 (EDT)
Re: Poke Ball Template
The template is to allow a visual "at a glance" look at it. It isn't even true to say "all Legendary Pokemon and Goldeen" - it's "Legendary Pokemon, Mythical Pokemon, Goldeen and, oh, Zoroark just 'cause". And then you have to know which ones are Legendary or Mythical, since we don't have pages on those, so you're making a big list separate from the table... and why not just put it in the table in a way you can see on the appropriate line of the table?
And while Poké Balls are technically non-essential, I preferred to have them there just to make it clear that, no, they're not Master Ball-exclusive. - Reboot (talk) 14:11, 28 June 2018 (EDT)

Peach
- Second, you may want to check your work yourself, as Peach Kingdom and Peach Blossom are not items. 10:09, 2 July 2018 (EDT)
Well, Peach (item) isn't anything to do with DKJB or SSBB (or WarioWare, since you're going through reverting those as well) - it currently goes to Peachy Peach, a Paper Mario item, after Doc's unilateral decision - with the edit summary of "no"! - without checking for links to the page... - to change it to there.. It previously redirected to Peach Blossom after a proposal (hence me changing the SSBB link there). - Reboot (talk) 10:14, 2 July 2018 (EDT)
- I see. Still, a location and a move don't belong in the item lists. The link should instead be corrected to point to Peachy Peach or removed entirely. 10:17, 2 July 2018 (EDT)
Why would it point to Peachy Peach? And I *did* remove it from the WarioWare microgame pages and you reverted anyway... - Reboot (talk) 10:19, 2 July 2018 (EDT)
- I removed the WarioWare one, that was my mistake. I meant it should point to Peachy Peach is the page is referring to it. Otherwise, link should just be removed or not included. Apologies for any confusion. Alex95sig1.pngAlex95sig2.png 10:20, 2 July 2018 (EDT)
Nothing linking to Peach (item) was intended for Peachy Peach (why do you think I was annoyed at Doc, especially with an edit summary of "no" and it being pointed to the place she changed it from as the result of a proposal). Nearly every link was for the Peach Blossom item, and the others were for the generic idea of a peach that happened to appear in a game, more or less. What I really don't understand is why you started reverting *everything* - even the WarioWare stuff and the SSBB image - without checking in the first place - Reboot (talk) 10:26, 2 July 2018 (EDT)
And can you delink Peach (item) from MarioWiki:Chronology? - Reboot (talk) 10:29, 2 July 2018 (EDT)
- It was the wording of the edits, or the placement of them, that confused me. "Princess Peach with a Peach Blossom" doesn't sound right, as Peach Blossom is the name of the move, not the item.
"Peach Blossom" was being used adjectivally there - "Peach Blossom peach" meaning "Peach which came from Peach Blossom" :) - Reboot (talk) 10:34, 2 July 2018 (EDT)
Sandbox edit
So I went to the sand box and I saw Starclimber the NightWing was made a chat and saved it! So can you do something about? [-]€40 分@4¡0 (talk) 10:42, 3 July 2018 (EDT)
- Eh, probably not a chat. Probably just Starclimber testing his sig he made, though done as a response to the guy above him. If it continues, though, the content will be removed. 10:47, 3 July 2018 (EDT)
Can I delete it? [-]€40 分@4¡0 (talk) 10:48, 3 July 2018 (EDT)
- It's a sandbox. You can do what you want to it as long as it doesn't remove the above header and follows the standard Mario Wiki rules. 10:50, 3 July 2018 (EDT)
Ok. Thanks. [-]€40 分@4¡0 (talk) 10:51, 3 July 2018 (EDT)
Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island Glitch
I've found a glitch where if you spit the Shy Guy out, and it collides on the ground-poundable stand at the right moment an Incoming Chomp breaks the ground. The glitch is that a part of the flippers turn into having a Shy Guy sprite instead of it actual tile. This glitch lasts until you pass the flippers. See here. Has this glitch occured to you? --83.156.220.80 11:21, 3 July 2018 (EDT)
- I don't have that game, sorry. Has it been something you're able to recreate? 11:22, 3 July 2018 (EDT)
- I don't own the game neither. I actually play on emulator.online --83.156.220.80 11:25, 3 July 2018 (EDT)
- Ps: This was the official game though. --83.156.220.80 11:25, 3 July 2018 (EDT)
- Emulators can cause glitches that the normal game wouldn't. I don't have the actual game, but maybe someone does. Some users have a list of games on their page (like me). See who you can find. 11:28, 3 July 2018 (EDT)
- Also, i know this is not a glitch but i edited Sluggy the Unshaven's "heart pops out" to "heart shrinks until reduced to nothing" here. Is it correct? --83.156.220.80 11:34, 3 July 2018 (EDT)
- I honestly have no idea. Like I said, I don't have the game, and I haven't played much of it. 11:38, 3 July 2018 (EDT)
- Yes, also https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nZQ9IG5SvxM this may tell you. Skip to 1:02 and you can tell if i am correct. --83.156.220.80 11:40, 3 July 2018 (EDT)
- Okay, yeah, it definitely shrinks. 11:42, 3 July 2018 (EDT)
- Until reducing to nothing, if i'm correct, right? --83.156.220.80 11:44, 3 July 2018 (EDT)
- Yep. 11:46, 3 July 2018 (EDT)
- I am surprised that the artwork depict Sluggy with eyelashes but lacks them on the sprite. Also, what does the player's guide says as a description for the Tulip? --83.156.220.80 11:48, 3 July 2018 (EDT)
- It's not uncommon for sprites to lack details of the artwork. As for the guide, strangely, Nintendo Power is saying nothing on the Tulips. 11:59, 3 July 2018 (EDT)
- Also, i asked a question about the Support Ghost in the talk page. I asked what was the Japanese name of the one found in Salvo the Slime's castle in Romaji and what does it means. Do you understand Japanese? The latter question is here. --83.156.220.80 12:01, 3 July 2018 (EDT)
- Looks like "Rojyarifuto". I have no idea what that means, or if that's 100% accurate. 12:13, 3 July 2018 (EDT)
- I translated in google translate, and i think it means Roger Lift. --83.156.220.80 12:15, 3 July 2018 (EDT)

Spinner
Hey there! I edited Spinner in the Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island section. I said that hacks show that Superstar Mario could eliminate a Spinner. I even linked the reference. Is it correct? --83.156.220.80 11:24, 5 July 2018 (EDT)
- Seems fine to me. We usually don't cover hacks, but when they show an unused action like that, it should be okay. 11:29, 5 July 2018 (EDT)
- Also, it seems legit (a good idea) about Roger Lift, but if we separate it from the Blarggwich article, would it have the conjecture template? --83.156.220.80 11:33, 5 July 2018 (EDT)
- No. It would be under it's Japanese name, with {{another language}} on top of the page. 11:35, 5 July 2018 (EDT)
- Oh, i forgot that. {{another language}} That? --83.156.220.80 11:36, 5 July 2018 (EDT)
- Yeah, that template shows the there is no English name for the subject. 11:37, 5 July 2018 (EDT)
- Like the one used for Puchipuchi L? --83.156.220.80 11:39, 5 July 2018 (EDT)

Chomp
The Unchained Chomps are just Chain Chomps that aren't attached to a post, but they still have their chain and aren't always big. It's the same as making articles for shelled Koopa Troopas or flattened Rexes. The things from Super Mario Kart are just described as chomp-like. VOIDTHIS (talk) 18:45, 6 July 2018 (CEST)
- It's still a proper name (unless someone added it incorrectly), but would it match better on Chain Chomp's page if all it is is a loose Chomp? And yeah, only Chomp-like for Super Mario Kart, I couldn't find an actual name for them. But the category should remain because they still appear in the game. 12:48, 6 July 2018 (EDT)
DK screenshots
For the levels in the DKC / DKL series, why don't you also bring the screenshots from DK Wiki? I understand this would be redundant in certain situations like this one where there are already plenty of them, but most level articles here have 2 at most while their DK Wiki counterparts have more. It would be a pity to lose them, especially since they are so high-quality; why not use them? -- -- KOOPA CON CARNE 16:24, 6 July 2018 (EDT)
- I don't see much of a reason to bring them over if we already have screenshots to represent the level in that version of the game. If we're missing some representation, I'll bring the images over. I suppose I could bring over a few more, though. I can look through the levels again later and see if there's anything worth bringing over. 16:40, 6 July 2018 (EDT)
- Well, they're there after all, ready to be used... If you take articles where I provided images, you can see that I made sure to make the gallery as complete as possible: Spinning Spines, Levitation Station, Crazy Clouds etc. You're already having a hassle merging an entire wiki, so I could help. -- -- KOOPA CON CARNE 17:15, 6 July 2018 (EDT)

Is it ok if I create pages for a few Mario Party minigames I found on this wiki? https://tcrf.net/Mario_Party --TheGreenBeetle (talk) 19:11, 14 July 2018 (EDT)
- Not individual pages, no. But they can be listed at List of Mario Party pre-release and unused content, if they aren't already. 19:13, 14 July 2018 (EDT)

Bowser and Megaman and all of that jazz
It's quite unlikely that this was the real source of the book's error, but the name "Kerog" is the romanized form of the Japanese name for the Mega Man 2 enemy Croaker, which was a frog robot. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 17:43, 17 July 2018 (EDT)
- Yeah, I looked it up immediately after the guy made those edits. Unless the publishers were also working on a Mega Man book at the same time, I doubt they could've confused the two characters. 17:47, 17 July 2018 (EDT)
Squishy Block 2
I think that beige block that was on King Bowser's castle was a squishy block. Do that means that Squishy Blocks can come in various colors? --83.156.220.80 12:39, 19 July 2018 (EDT)
- Does it act like a squishy block? If so, then possibly. 12:44, 19 July 2018 (EDT)
- Yes it does. Look and go at 2:24 of the timing of the video. --83.156.220.80 12:48, 19 July 2018 (EDT)
- Then yes. It seems to be the sprite graphic we have on the page already, as the screenshots we have show it as transparent. 12:51, 19 July 2018 (EDT)
- I also wrote on Big & Little Boo from Yoshi's Story that unlike other Boos, they have a blue mouth instead of red. Check it out if it's should be slightly altered. And how Sluggy's heart disappear from existence if it only shrinks? --83.156.220.80 12:57, 19 July 2018 (EDT)
- Then yes. It seems to be the sprite graphic we have on the page already, as the screenshots we have show it as transparent. 12:51, 19 July 2018 (EDT)

Rocky Wrench
In the Rocky Wrench talk page, i said that it doesn't need to be split since Koopalings were both redesigned and were originally considered as Bowser's children. See Talk:Rocky Wrench on the last line. What do you think if we should split or not? --83.156.220.80 01:44, 20 July 2018 (EDT)
- tbh, I think it's best if left alone. That talk page has caused enough trouble. 01:46, 20 July 2018 (EDT)
Re:Remember Me?
It's actually been a long three years... I've been busy, and not in fun ways. Still, things should be clearing up which means more time to play video games and more time to write about them online. Anyway, how are you? Toad and his brigade! 02:33, 23 July 2018 (EDT)
RE:gif image
The image itself also works fine for me. However, when I was editing Barrel Cannon Canyon and I tried displaying the page preview, the entire page kept on loading without finishing. I figured it would be owing to the gif and removed it from the code, after which it loaded normally. Even though it appears to be at the perfect resolution, the gif is still unacceptably large compared to this one, for example. I'd say it's best to delete it so that it doesn't hamper some readers. -- -- KOOPA CON CARNE 15:18, 23 July 2018 (EDT)
Huffin Puffin
I told something about wether it should be split or not. Could you take a look here and tell me your opinion about it? --83.156.220.80 15:28, 23 July 2018 (EDT)

D.I.Y. Data
OK, I have decided to make the article. I was going to make four separate tables for each set of achievements as they appear in WarioWare: D.I.Y.
I also will add pictures. But I will check prior to creating the page. Sounds good?

"No worries"
Thank you for understanding. I was worried I might get a formal notice sometime because I keep moving file names like that. This is because I'm trying to standardize them and I often lose my concentration when I have to modify the title, such as adding or removing a dash, as I'm uploading a file. I will try to make less mistakes in the future. -- -- KOOPA CON CARNE 17:42, 27 July 2018 (EDT)
- I don't mind getting some use out of the "delete" button :P Keep up the good work, and you're welcome! Don't worry about mistaken file names. 17:46, 27 July 2018 (EDT)
Bubble Dayzee, Hopping Tap-Tap and Potted Spiked Fun Guy.
So, as i understand, the following enemies are considered as related species of respectively the Crazee Dayzee, Tap-Tap and Spiked Fun Guy, but are considered as the same species who only act different, i know. I don't understand Japanese, but i used google translate for the colors, and it appears to mention in the Crazee Dayzee's description that the purple ones spit out bubbles. For the Tap-Tap, does it mention that it hops somewhere? And for Spiked Fun Guy, it says it sometimes rides in a pot. I checked Needlenose's page to know that! --83.156.220.80 01:34, 28 July 2018 (EDT)
- I... don't get what you're asking (I'm tired, I need sleep), but five out of six of those enemies have pages. You've already proved the Hopping Tap-Tap has a name with an image of the guide, which I can personally confirm myself. That may get a page at some point, now. 01:39, 28 July 2018 (EDT)
