Cherbil appearance thing
In a way Cherbils actually do look like bums (I hope I didn't sound rude there) if you look at them, they may'nt've been based off them but they do share a striking resemblance to bottoms. So maybe we shouldn't mention apparently and based off but maybe a resemblance will do I just hop it's not too inappropriate lol. (talk) (edits) 15:43, 7 October 2016 (EDT)

Re: Userspace
Thanks for the notice! I have been looking for mainspace things to edit but can't really find any that I have the knowledge to edit properly, and most of the ones that 'need rewriting due to grammatical mistakes' were fixed quite a while ago. I'll try and edit my userspace a bit less, but I'll just add one more thing today.

Wrong Goomba and a question.
I noticed you changed the Super Mario Maker for 3DS article to remove the part about Goombrats. What I don't think you knew is that the ones in Super Mario World style are called Galoombas, not Goombrats. It doesn't matter because it's gone anyway, though. Also, is it against the rules to take a userbox that someone else made without asking permission? -- (talk · edits) 16:42, 15 October 2016 (EDT) Yeah, no Goombrats, because they weren't in SMM for Wii U. Thanks for answering my question! -- (talk · edits) 17:05, 15 October 2016 (EDT)
Unofficial transparent images
Can you please give an example?
That is unnecessary.
You can consider uploading a different image (excluding the boomerang) and just crop it instead. L151
Black Bowser's Castle
Hi. Not sure where to post this. Though for PAPER MARIO COLOR SPLASH, they listed BLACK BOWSER CASTLE card under THINGS. It is not a THING card. It's an ENEMY card, that gets filed under ENEMY in the museum at end of game. Please modify this if you can. Thanks

Edit Sniping
Just let a sysop decide the best course of action. It could be true that he didn't edit snipe but rather he just logged in within two minutes and thought you forgot to categorize. This happened to me recently. Also, MarioWiki:Staff noticeboard isn't a place to discuss as stated by the notice on the page. --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) (Stats - Contribs) 15:08, 18 October 2016 (EDT)
- Of course. While he did edit snipped, I knew he was just trying to help. I didn't mind it much, so, though I know AfternoonLight has done it fairly frequently in the past, I don't think he deserves a block for snipping me. 15:13, 18 October 2016 (EDT)

The Pauline artwork.
I'm not very handy with this since I just joined the wiki. Would you mind editing another artwork? I would assume a picture of Pauline's Smash brothers trophy.
I really don't know how my artwork got here in the first place to be honest. I just put it online to show a friend, so how it got here? I donot know.
I hope I'm not pressuring you, but I would appreciate it if you would add another artwork.

Incidentally, the only - and I've looked - name for the overworld level opposite the Tree Zone I've found is from the Japanese guidebook that YoshiKong/Shokora pointed me to on Gallery talk:Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins: 展望台コース, Tenbō-dai kōsu (which appears to mean - according to Google Translate - "Lookout Course"). - Reboot (talk) 01:45, 5 November 2016 (EDT)

Hi. I'm working on completing Super Mario 3D World 100%. I think I've beat Worlds 1 and 2, but I have a question. Do you need to get Gold Stars on The Adventures of Captain Toad levels? Image Removal
I noticed a bunch of images show up in Special:UnusedFiles relating to Kirby. I checked that article and your edits match up with the images I found. Just so you know, removing the link to the image doesn't mean the image is deleted. Just be sure you tag unused images with {{delete}} and also specify a reason it should be deleted ({{delete|[[:File:TheFile.png]]}} is what I usually do in this situation, like File:Mariolandmp2.jpg). If I am wrong, I don't know what your plans are for those images. --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) (Stats - Contribs) 04:58, 30 November 2016 (EST)

Wario voice
This statement of Wario's voice actor Thomas Spindler comes from a Youtube video without stating where the information was taken from, it could be made up. I have not done any more edits, nor do I plan as I don't have time to do war edits. But your statement of Wario's voice is not trustworthy without a reliable source of information that actually comes from Thomas Spindler and not Youtube.

Hey Alex. Reverting vandalism as soon as you spot it is fine. Hey Alex. Thanks for helping for my mistakes and stuff. I'm sure tired of making all these mistakes and I'm sure you don't like correcting them. So I'm just gonna ask you questions here.
1.I'm having trouble putting in my signature! Can you tell me the code to put a signature? I tried using other people's code ad examples for me but it didn't work. And how do you add your own? 2. When I'm adding images, is it OK to add images off the internet as long as I give credit? Is it OK to put in public domain images? I've seen other more advanced users putting in images that belong to Nintendo on their profile. Whats up with that? 3. How do people upgrade their rank?
Sorry if these question's answers can be found on other articles. Like I said, I'm trying to learn :(

I see you removed {{uncategorized}} from File:Tom eberspecher mgat.jpg without specifying the game category it belongs to. Turns out it belongs to Mario Golf: Advance Tour. Super Princess Peach enemies
I've ran into a slight dilemma, in the playthrough I'm watching, I see several enemies, but they aren't detailed in the game's glossary on the wiki page, and the player doesn't particularly dwell on them. I'm not sure if there's something in a game guide, or a Perry Block that says about these things. The ones I've encountered so far are some fire enemies that I've used in screenshots for Fury Volcano, some flaming tiki heads from the same world, a sand-creature in Wavy Beach and some icicle creatures in Gleam Glacier. The latter three act more like obstacles than genuine enemies, if that helps. Yoshi876 (talk)

Did you make sure what you italicized in this edit are indeed in-game descriptions? I'm playing the US version of the game and the in-game description of the Green Cure is "A 1,000-year-old curative held by Chakron above Plack Beach" instead of "One of the curatives that was held by Chakron" which you italicized. --A gossip-loving Toad (Talk) 21:03, 3 January 2017 (EST)

Oxford Comma
While the Oxford Comma (as in, the final comma in a list of three or more items) can be used to clear up ambiguity in certain circumstances, it is mostly optional and even more confusing in some cases. There are few guides that strictly insist on separating every item in a list with a comma (including Ofxord). On a website such as this that is fairly loose with grammar technicalities, it isn't necessary. Hello, I'm Time Turner. 16:14, 19 January 2017 (EST)
- I don't know if I can convince you otherwise (and frankly, plenty of more learned individuals have argued this point), but generally, it's not necessary. As I've been taught, most people will recognize that "eggs" and "bread" are two separate items, rather than one conglomerate item, as most people are familiar with the wheat product and the chicken byproduct. Honestly, I tend to use the Oxford Comma regularly myself, but I am well aware that both sides have a leg to stand on and both sides can cite their own style guides. Therefore, it shouldn't be necessary to force everyone to obey this rule, especially on a website that mostly cares about the basics of English grammar and not much else. Hello, I'm Time Turner. 16:32, 19 January 2017 (EST)
- What you consider proper punctuation can be considered unnecessary or potentially misleading punctuation (and there are examples where it doesn't perfectly clear up any ambiguity). It's nothing more complicated than that. Hello, I'm Time Turner. 16:50, 19 January 2017 (EST)
- Why is this a thing. It's just one freaking comma I "missed". I'm not sure who invented this "grammar", but it's really unnecessary to edit that one tiny thing. Frosted Downhill Kirby (talk) 16:56, 19 January 2017 (EST)

Mission articles
It's great that you're doing the Mario 64 levels, but simply copy and pasting the information is not what is needed. They still need to have the structure of a level article, i.e. introduction, layout, etc.; and it'd also be wise to read through it so you can remove any poor writing, like what was on Snowman's Lost His Head. Yoshi876 (talk)
- Hm, thought I corrected some of the poor writing. Guess I missed some. Oh well, thanks for noticing that and for the advice. I'll do better for the next mission pages I create. 15:22, 24 January 2017 (EST)

I'm not going to start an edit war over this, but according to both the rules I learned in third grade decades ago and pretty much every online source I can find, the correct way to write in the United States -- which I'm reasonably certain is where you're located -- is to put periods and commas inside of quotation marks in either all or almost all circumstances. -TPIRFanSteve (talk) 20:06, 29 March 2017 (EDT)

super mario run
i cant create pages since im not autoconfirmed but i was wondering if you could help me. as per policy, each level must have its own page yet half the levels on the page lead to nonexisting pages. could you help me create the pages to finish the main page of super mario run? thanks
- thanks, when i get autoconfirmed ill try to do it. let me know if you need help with super mario galaxy btw.

SMG Mecha-Bowser
According to this proposal, they will still need to be split. Even though they have the same name, doesn't mean that they should be merged again. I will give you some options.
- Make another proposal to confirm that they should be merged into the same article again or the other options.
- Merge the level and Mecha-Bowser into one article.
- Move the old Combat section to Heavy Metal Mecha-Bowser and the rest to the planet's info.
# Restore everything back and move Mecha Bowser to some form of Heavy Metal Mecha-Bowser or Mecha-Bowser. (I don't think the Combat info should be moved from the new article)
Please respond before you do anything else. Yoshi the SSM (talk) 12:17, 1 May 2017 (EDT)
- The proposal, especially in the comments, offered some ley-way about the new article. This is why I gave the four options. Yoshi the SSM (talk) 12:33, 1 May 2017 (EDT)
Congrats!
I just came back after a time of inactivity and I see you've been promoted to a patroller now. Congrats and good luck!

Friends
Thanks for moving Lightning Orb to Conductor. This move seems wise. Hey, can we be friends. Base the userbox on the ones that I gave the others. As for the image, you could use one of theirs, File:Red Yoshi SMW.PNG, File:Red Yoshi Fire.PNG, File:MLPJ Red Yoshi.png, or a different one from Red Yoshi page. Proposal Archive
Didn't archive because MarioWiki:Courtesy so to give TheDisneyGamer (talk) a chance to do it himself. I just added the {{Proposal outcome}} template just to let people know voting on that proposal is expired. --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) (Stats - Contribs) 20:21, 13 May 2017 (EDT)
- Oh, oops. Okay. 20:24, 13 May 2017 (EDT)
- Also, are you planning on splitting the List of references in video games like you proposed? 20:26, 13 May 2017 (EDT)
- Orignally yes, but I think the current outcome is wrong somehow. I think if I commit the changes, we will still have an article over 100,000 bytes. I think there were other options that other people suggested that might work better but were overlooked during voting. I'm uneasy committing the changes based on the questionable outcome. --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) (Stats - Contribs) 20:37, 13 May 2017 (EDT)
- Well, you can't just have the proposal pass and not do anything about it. It's going to be a large page regardless of the outcome. 20:41, 13 May 2017 (EDT)
- I don't think so because the ABC option looked like the best chance to have a page under 100,000. Also it is much easier to split because the list is already alphabetized. I would like this to be reviewed by the staff to veto the outcome (no change basically). If possible, could the admins override the decision as well (enforce an option that didn't get voted for as often)? Minimally veto the decision. --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) (Stats - Contribs) 20:47, 13 May 2017 (EDT)
- Maybe. However, you made a proposal with options, and users voted to what they believed would be the best option. You can cancel a proposal partway through, but if it finishes, you should follow through with it, regardless of whether you agree with the outcome or not. Going against the outcome and other users' votes would be irresponsible. 20:54, 13 May 2017 (EDT)
- Usually, I do follow the outcome. However, I don't think the voters made an informed decision with this case. I expressed this concern during the voting period. Nobody replied. That is why I am requesting a staff review. --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) (Stats - Contribs) 21:19, 13 May 2017 (EDT)
- Did all active sysops agree to create another proposal? It's unclear since this discussion went fast. --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) (Stats - Contribs) 22:29, 13 May 2017 (EDT)
- That's fairer for everybody. --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) (Stats - Contribs) 22:33, 13 May 2017 (EDT)
- Actually, I need to postpone this proposal. I need to think about how to word it and there is another proposal I am actively paying attention to. I know there isn't anything against the rules proposing more than one proposal by one user, I'd rather not overdo things at this time. Would be acceptable to veto the passed proposal anyway and give the reason being what was discussed here with you and other sysops? --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) (Stats - Contribs) 15:53, 15 May 2017 (EDT)
- I mean veto as temporary withdrawing support to performing the agreed upon outcome, to discourage someone unaware that this conversation took place. Like this:
{{Proposal outcome|vetoed|Even though proposal passed, sysops are temporarily withdrawing enforcing this agreed upon outcome. If an additional proposal isn't created by (date), this veto will become null and void and will proceed with the original outcome.}}
- --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) (Stats - Contribs) 16:04, 15 May 2017 (EDT)
- So the sysops agree that I can override the current proposal's outcome despite I can't overturn a decision after 28 days otherwise, but don't want to give a heads-up there will be another round of negotiations? That doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me because there could be editing conflicts and unnecessary maintenance, which can introduce headaches between users. There's got to be some happy middle ground that the sysops can agree should be done in a case like this. --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) (Stats - Contribs) 17:49, 15 May 2017 (EDT)

- Never mind, I created, but I hope I didn't rush anything. --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) (Stats - Contribs) 18:27, 15 May 2017 (EDT)
- The veto idea I suggested should still be there, now that I created the proposal, but should be reworded. Technically, someone could start enforcing changes anyways if they didn't bother to read the proposal below it. I'd rather not have that unless everyone is absolutely sure how things should be split. --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) (Stats - Contribs) 18:49, 15 May 2017 (EDT)
- The reason I was pushing for the veto is to avoid unnecessary conflict. This whole situation is a mess, I thought it could alleviate some of the damage. You might be right considering the amount of work to be done. Also {{proposal notice}} is on the main page so hopefully people see that. I was just looking to cover all the bases. --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) (Stats - Contribs) 19:00, 15 May 2017 (EDT)

Just slightly butting in, but nothing in courtesy policy, or the proposals rule page says anything against archiving someone's else proposal if the deadline has passed, in fact this is common behaviour. Courtesy only comes into play in regards to starting to enforce the proposal. Yoshi876 (talk)
- I didn't want to chance that at the time. --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) (Stats - Contribs) 20:37, 13 May 2017 (EDT)
- ...I should give the Courtesy policy a closer read (currently doing that). Maybe you thought the circumstance fell under the first bullet point, WGS? 20:41, 13 May 2017 (EDT)
- Pretty much. I had something similar happen to me a few months back. I'd rather not be that guy by causing a problem with TheDisneyGamer (talk). --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) (Stats - Contribs) 22:29, 13 May 2017 (EDT)

3D Player 2010 (talk) agreed to take on the job I wasn't ready for. That was arranged only days into the override proposal. --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) (Stats - Contribs) 23:25, 29 May 2017 (EDT)
Boo Wipe
Thanks for sticking up for me for that deletion tag thing on the redirect page. I had a hunch it wasn't official because of my edit summary on the actual Hide and Boo Seek page. – Owencrazyboy9 (talk) 00:04, 21 May 2017 (EDT)
- np, man. The user who created the page made some poor quailty edits, one of which was outright vandalism. I wouldn't be surprised if it was a name they created and tried to pass off as official. Though if it does turn out that the name was used in development or coding or something, the redirect can always be created again. 02:34, 21 May 2017 (EDT)

RE: IP address question
Yes, it's a range block. The /XX format is meant to represent a range of IPs and is mainly used in Special:CheckUser and Special:Block. Special:Contributions recognises it as a username, which is why it shows as "unregistered" and doesn't show any contributions. There's a post on it here. Mario JC 23:59, 23 May 2017 (EDT)

Thank you for the image resize!
I hadn't realized what was causing the offscreen-ness until after I saved the edit, so I went in to change the image sizes to see if that helped and by the time I finished, you'd already done it! Thanks! - 68.54.159.51 22:15, 28 May 2017 (EDT)
RE: Range block
Done. Kept it at two weeks on the off chance that a different, innocent user within that range comes in to edit. Mario JC 21:11, 31 May 2017 (EDT)
