A Spooky Mask is an enemy in Super Mario Land 2: Six Golden Coins's Pumpkin Zone. It is a walking hockey mask with a dagger stuck in it. Its attack manner is similar to a Goomba's, although stomping Spooky Masks propel Mario upward (unlike the Super Mario Land 2: Six Golden Coins, which give Mario no extra propulsion upon being jumped on).
Splunkins and the pumpkin-headed Goombas of Super Mario Galaxy can be thought of as similar to Spooky Masks, being diminutive, Halloween-themed enemies.
Trivia
- The hockey mask and zombie-like nature of Spooky Masks may be a reference to famous film character Jason Voorhees.
