Spiky Ant are simple Ant enemies, but with spikes all over. If Mario jumps on them, he will gain damage. They should not be jumped on while the spikes are out. They only appear in the Macro Zone of Super Mario Land 2.
Sometimes they will appear spikeless, and then stop to stick out their spikes. Mario must jump over them to avoid it like most other spike enemies. They are defenseless to a fireball, regardless of whether or not their spikes are erected.
