A Tail Goomba is a Goomba with a Tanooki tail. Its powers were given by Bowser with his Super Leaves. It attacks by swinging its tail like Tanooki Mario.
History
Super Mario 3D Land
Tail Goombas make their first appearance in Super Mario 3D Land, where they attack like Tanooki Mario. They jump into the air and flutter down, and perform a tail whip when they land. They are defeated like normal Goombas and Mario can take their Super Leaf after defeat. There are also giant varieties as well as a golden varieties that appeared in a late beta version of the game. They appear to be able to fly like Tanooki Mario. There is a special one disguised as Bowser.

- Tail Goombas seem to resemble the Tanoombas from Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga and Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time.
