Minkeys are small white ape[1] enemies in Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble! and Donkey Kong Land III. In the latter game, their name is spelled Minkys. In both games, Minkeys hold on to a perch from a tree, repeatedly throwing acorns at Dixie Kong and Kiddy Kong. Minkeys cannot be defeated, but Dixie or Kiddy can move behind a Barrel Shield to protect themselves from being hit. In Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble!, Minkeys only appear in one level, Barrel Shield Bust-Up, where they are the main enemy and obstacle. In the Game Boy Advance version, Minkeys also appear in Sunken Spruce. Additionally, Dixie Kong's Photo Album features a photograph of a Minkey categorized under Terrorfirma Tuff Guys. In Donkey Kong Land III, they appear in three levels: Minky Mischief, Redwood Rampage, and Simian Shimmy, slightly more than in Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble!.
