A screw[1][2] appears in Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins as a type of sentient enemy. Screws are encountered near the end of the Mario Zone's first stage only. The screws wind themselves out of the ground and bounce toward Mario to attack while attempting to drill into him from above. Screws can be defeated either from being jumped on or from a fireball.

マリオランド2に出現する巨大なネジ。ピョンピョンはねながら接近してくるが、これといった攻撃はしかけてこない。ファイアか踏みつけで簡単に倒すことができる。[3]

Spring-loaded screw

A giant screw that appears in Mario Land 2. It approaches with a bouncing leap, but does not attack in any particular way. It can be easily defeated by fire or stomping on it.
