First appearance | Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam (2015) |
Variant of | Paper Shy Guy Spear Guy |
Paper Spear Guys are paper forms of Spear Guys that appear as enemies in Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam. They can attack by swinging together over one of the Mario Bros., which must be counterattacked by hitting the Paper Spear Guy at the bottom with a hammer. The Paper Spear Guy at the bottom occasionally lets go of the rest of the stack, allowing it to attack one of the brothers from the front. They can also attack by forming a circle and throwing their spears at one of the brothers, which must be avoided by jumping. A third attack involves the Paper Spear Guys lining up and throwing their spears at one of brothers, with all but the spear thrown by the closest Paper Spear Guy missing. Paper Spear Guys are found in the east side of Gloomy Woods, and assist Wiggler and Paper Kamek in battle.
Rare, shiny variants can also appear in place of the regular Paper Spear Guys in the same area. These Paper Spear Guys have greater stats and always drop either a Super Nut or a Level 1 Character Card when defeated, though their methods of attack remain the same.
