The Sundae Tour was the seventy-sixth tour of Mario Kart Tour, which began on August 10, 2022 and ended on August 23, 2022. As the tour's name indicates, it introduced Sky-High Sundae (making this the first tour since the 2021 Ninja Tour thirty-five tours prior to introduce a new course not based on a city), which first appeared in Wave 2 of the Booster Course Pass for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (which was released a day prior to the tour's announcement, on August 4) as a new course, making this the first course to debut in the aforementioned game and later make an appearance in Mario Kart Tour. The tour also introduced White Tanooki Mario from Super Mario 3D Land as a new driver and many dessert-related karts and gliders, as well as an ice cream-themed Mii Racing Suit as part of Mii Racing Suits Wave 12. The ? Block Mii Racing Suit introduced in the May 2022 Peach vs. Bowser Tour returned as a ranked reward for this tour, while the Rosalina Mii Racing Suit appeared in the Mii Racing Suit Shop for the first time. This was the first tour to feature a trailer showing the new course before the title and banner, which would become a regular staple in future tour trailers. The menu's background featured various elements from Sky-High Sundae, including the giant ice cream sundae and the ice cream cone helicopter, as the landmark for this tour.

Continuing from the previous tour, the Summertime Celebration event concluded in this tour.

Starting from this tour, the White Snow Skimmer and the Calico Parafoil are available in regular tour pipes, including the All-Clear Pipe.

Today's Challenge[edit]

Players' most recently used kart and glider are chosen, and favorite and favored ones have extra priority. Opponents are arranged randomly. On day 1 of this tour, players finish a race in GCN Baby Park R in the Mii Cup using the Ice-Cream Mii Racing Suit for a free pipe launch. Starting from day 2, players have to finish a race in the earliest incomplete course that is not in any of the ranked cups using the driver shown on the course's thumbnail every day to obtain the corresponding reward in the table below. Once all of the courses are completed, the courses are selected at random.
