A Swipin' Stu,[1][2] also known as a Flying Goomba,[3] Doro Kuri,[4] and Kuri,[5] is a green variety of Winged Strollin' Stu in Super Mario Sunshine. Swipin' Stus appear in Episode 5, Episode 6, Episode 7, and Episode 8 of Pinna Park on its beach. Swipin' Stus are larger than the blue Winged Strollin' Stus. The green pattern wraps around the Swipin' Stu's head, similar to a hoodie. A Swipin' Stu's skin is slightly darker than that of a normal Strollin' Stu. Swipin' Stus attack when Mario walks beneath them, attempting to land on him. If a Swipin' Stu succeeds, it steals his cap and spontaneously sprouts a mustache similar to Mario's. Without his cap, Mario slowly loses health when in direct sunlight. To retrieve his cap, Mario must either ground-pound the Swipin' Stu and take it back or re-enter Pinna Park. Swipin' Stus drop five coins when defeated.
Originally, Swipin' Stus with feet and no wings were intended to appear during the boss fight with King Boo.[6] However, this was removed from the final game.
