The Cat Tour was the thirty-sixth tour of Mario Kart Tour, which began on January 27, 2021 and ended on February 9, 2021. | The Cat Tour was the thirty-sixth tour of Mario Kart Tour, which began on January 27, 2021 and ended on February 9, 2021. Reflecting the tour's theme, it marked the return of Cat Peach and introduced Cat Toad as playable characters, while adding new cat-themed kart parts such as the Cat Cruiser from Mario Kart 8 and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and the Toe-Bean Balloons. Donut Plains 2 from Super Mario Kart also returned as a classic course, which served as the signature course of the tour. The tour also marked the first reappearance of Paris Promenade 2 since its debut in the Valentine's Tour twenty-six tours prior. The tour took place close to the release of the similarly-themed Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury, and likely promoted it. The menu's background featured the hills from Donut Plains 2 as the landmark for this tour. This tour's trailer featured cat paw prints (reference to Cat Peach) during its opening splash screen.
Starting from this tour to the 2021 Trick Tour, the title screen is the same as the 1st Anniversary Tour, but the "1ST ANNIVERSARY" banner is omitted.

Starting from this tour, Funky Kong is available in regular tour pipes, including the All-Clear Pipe.
This was the last tour to feature the third set of Expert Challenges, which started in the 2020 Mario vs. Luigi Tour.

Trivia[edit]
- In the Dry Bones Cup, the thumbnail of N64 Kalimari Desert 2 showed Dixie Kong, even though the course was only treated as a favored course for Dixie (unless she was leveled up to level 6).
- This is so far the only tour not taking place in December to include Merry Mountain.
