Strawberry Shortfuse is a Battle minigame in Mario Party 6 and a Free-for-All minigame in Mario Party: The Top 100. Its name is based on the name of the dessert strawberry shortcake. The official website included a game entitled "Cake or Bomb?" that was based on this minigame.
There is a page containing the minigame in the Miracle Book called "Kitchen Monkeys." Activating the page reveals Toadette under the dish Mario opens, Yoshi popping out of the trapdoor, Wario and Waluigi in the cupboard, a Cheep Cheep leaping out of the soup pot, and a cake finished baking.
Introduction[edit]
The players run into a kitchen as the minigame begins.
Gameplay[edit]
The minigame begins with ten Ukikis holding trays that contain five bombs and five cakes; they hide the contents of their trays and run around the room, scrambling themselves. Players line up and choose a Ukiki. If the Ukiki holds a cake, the player is safe and moves to the back of the line. If the Ukiki holds a bomb, it explodes and eliminates the player from the minigame. The last player standing is the winner.
Should the players choose all five cakes while two or more players are still in contention, the Ukikis refill their trays and the minigame continues for a second round, and if it happens again, it continues for a third round. If multiple players are still in contention if all five cakes in the third round are picked, the remaining players are all declared winners[1] and split all the coins in the pot.
Ending[edit]
In Mario Party 6, the winning player(s) celebrate(s) as the remaining Ukikis cheer and expose the contents of their trays.
