They then duck back into their perch and pop back out to throw another acorn. Minkeys cannot be defeated, so Dixie or Kiddy must either dodge the acorns or move in front of a [[Barrel Shield]] to protect themselves from being hit by their acorns.

Minkeys are small white ape[1] enemies in Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble! and Donkey Kong Land III. In the latter game, their name is spelled Minkys. In both games, Minkeys hold on to a perch from a tree, repeatedly throwing acorns at Dixie Kong and Kiddy Kong. Minkeys cannot be defeated, but Dixie or Kiddy can move behind a Barrel Shield to protect themselves from being hit. In Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble!, Minkeys only appear in one level, Barrel Shield Bust-Up, where they are the main enemy and obstacle.
