Crazy Cars is one of Wario's introduction microgames in WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$! and reappears as one of the Mash League introduction microgames in WarioWare Gold.

History[edit]

Mario Artist: Polygon Studio[edit]

This microgame originally appeared in Mario Artist: Polygon Studio in the Sound Bomber mode under the name "JUMP". In this version, the player controls a generic figure instead of Wario and the "car" is whatever model the player is currently working on. Aside from lacking the two scenarios in which the player does not need to do anything, the microgame behaves more or less the same.

WarioWare series[edit]

Crazy Cars was redefined as a microgame of the WarioWare series by the release of WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$! A different iteration of Crazy Cars appears in WarioWare: D.I.Y. as a microgame that can be edited, this time retitled Crazy Car. Wario has to jump over the incoming item by tapping the Nintendo DS touch screen. Unedited, the incoming item is a car shaped like a shark. After this, the original Crazy Cars was readded into WarioWare Gold.

Super Smash Bros. series[edit]

In the Super Smash Bros. series, particularly Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS, and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Crazy Cars is part of the WarioWare, Inc. stage. Like in the actual microgame, fighters must avoid the car that is about to go by. A warning sign will appear so that the players know which side of the screen the vehicle will come out from. The car can also occasionally jump.

Gameplay[edit]

Wario is standing on the left edge of the screen, and a car comes from the right: a potato car, a hot dog car, a shark car, a lightbulb car, the Door to Nowhere (a door car), and a teapot car (the final three being exclusive to WarioWare Gold). The player has to press the A Button button at the right time, causing Wario to jump over the car. This microgame shares its music with Bad Man Bash, Batter Up, Bug Bite and Ninja Pipe Cleaner.

  • 1st level difficulty: There are no tricks.
  • 2nd level difficulty: There are some tricks:
    • The car will stop shortly before hitting the player. In this situation, "normal" jump timing will cause Wario to land on top of the car (this would lead to the player failing the microgame), so the player will have to jump after the car starts moving again.
    • In WarioWare Gold, the Door to Nowhere will stop, open, and release another car.
  • 3rd level difficulty: All the tricks from level 2, along with some new tricks:
    • The car will jump shortly before hitting Wario. In this case, jumping at all will cause Wario to collide with the vehicle. This is similar to the car stopping, but the player must react more quickly not to jump.
    • The car will stop, then drive in the other direction. This variation (and the next two) wil always result in a win regardless of if the player does anything.
    • The car comes out miniature-sized and merely bounces off of Wario if it touches him.
    • The car will stop and not move at all after doing so.

WarioWare Gold has a mission titled Road Rager, where the player has to make the miniature car crash into Wario.

Mega Microgame$! probability distributions[edit]

The three vehicles that appear in Mega Microgame$! have an equal chance of spawning. Their behaviour is determined by the microgame level, and a number rolled between 0 and 15:

Level Outcome(s) Probability
1st Level The vehicle will drive normally with no tricks. 100% (16/16)
2nd Level The vehicle will drive normally with no tricks. 62.5% (10/16)
The vehicle will stop shortly before moving again towards the player 37.5% (6/16)
3rd Level The vehicle will drive normally with no tricks. 37.5% (6/16)
The vehicle will stop shortly before moving again towards the player. 25% (4/16)
The vehicle will jump when it gets close to Wario. 25% (4/16)
The vehicle will stop then drive away from Wario (definite win). 6.25% (1/16)
A miniature vehicle that bounces off Wario if it comes in contact with him (definite win). 6.25% (1/16)
