Power Trip is a 1-vs.-3 minigame in Mario Party 8. Its name is a reference to an action taken solely for the gratification of exerting control over others. The Wii Remote must be held sideways to play this minigame.
Introduction[edit]
The team players rise up on a platform with a few square holes on the edges. The solo player then comes flying in on a hovercraft with electricity running around the edges. It goes to the center, then below the platform becomes an electric barrier.
Gameplay[edit]
The objective for the solo player is to eliminate the other players, while the trio's objective is to survive until time runs out. The solo player's hovercraft is constantly moving forward, and it can be turned by tilting the Wii Remote. The other three players use to move and to jump. A player is eliminated if they fall through a hole in the platform or are hit by the hovercraft. If all three team players are eliminated before time runs out, the solo player wins. If at least one team player survives, however, the trio wins.
Ending[edit]
If the solo player wins, they stand in front of the hovercraft on the platform and perform a victory dance before the platform lowers down. If the team players win, they perform victory dances while the solo player does a losing animation behind them in front of the hovercraft before the platform lowers down.
