They are a special kind of big, multi-colored [[Banana Coin]]s that have all of the [[Kong]]s' colors on them. When collected, all of the Kongs receive five extra Banana Coins, even if the player hasn't rescued everyone yet. There is one coin in every world of the game, (except [[Angry Aztec]], which has two) and a total of seven coins are found on [[DK Isles]]. These coins are always found buried under dirt piles with the letters [[Donkey Kong|'DK']] on them. To release a 5-Banana Coin, the player must step on a dirt pile and press and hold the {{button|n64|B}} button, releasing a shockwave attack that destroys the dirt pile and reveals the special coin. No 5-Banana Coins are found in [[Hideout Helm]].

They are uncommon collectible items appearing only in Donkey Kong 64. Collecting a 5-Banana Coin gives every Kong five extra Banana Coins, even if they have not been rescued yet. Every world has at least one 5-Banana Coin, except Hideout Helm. 5-Banana Coins are always buried under a DK Dirt Pile, from which it can be released by performing the shockwave move on the DK Dirt Pile.
