Krochead Barrels are usually found hovering in the air. If Diddy or Dixie Kong touch the barrel, it will summon several Krocheads, which the Kongs can use to cross large gaps. The Krockheads summoned by a Krochead Barrel will only be surfaced above the mud temporarily, meaning that the Kongs will need to hop on them quickly, before they vanish back in the mud.

A Krockhead Barrel[1] (also formatted as Krockhead barrel)[2] is a type of barrel in Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest and Donkey Kong Land 2. Krockhead Barrels depict a Krockhead, specifically of the green type in the former game. In both games, Krockhead Barrels appear only in their respective iteration of the level Krockhead Klamber, usually hovering in midair. If Diddy or Dixie Kong touches a Krockhead Barrel, several Krockheads emerge from the swamp, and the Kongs can jump from them to travel across. However, there is only a limited opportunity to do so, as the Krockheads retreat back into the swamp water shortly afterward. While a Krockhead Barrel is active, the Krockhead icon depicted on it blinks repeatedly. If the Kongs touch a Krockhead Barrel again, the duration of its effect is reset.
