Gun the Runner is a 1-vs.-3 minigame in Mario Party 8.
Introduction[edit]
A battle helicopter known in-game as the Bullet Blitzer flies in front of a construction site and opens to reveal the team players. They raise their guns as the camera turns to look at the solo player at the bottom of the site.
Gameplay[edit]
In this minigame, one player needs to jump up platforms to get to the top of a large tower, while the other three attempt to stop the player by shooting them. When the runner is hit by one of them, they are unable to move for three seconds; however, it takes only one second to reload a ball. Besides stationary platforms, the runner encounters a few elevators along the way. If the runner makes it to the top in 30 seconds, they win the minigame. If the runner is unable to make it, the team wins the minigame.
Ending[edit]
If the solo player wins, the player does a winning pose as the Bullet Blitzer closes and flies off with the team players, who do their losing poses. If the team players win, they do winning poses on the Bullet Blitzer while the solo player performs their losing animation on one of the platforms at the middle of the building. In Party Mode, the team players then fly off into the distance.
