Template:Levelbox Gilbert the Gooey's Castle is level 1-8 of Yoshi's Island DS. It is also the second castle of the game.
Like most levels of the game, there are many sections to this level. The first section is a straightforward route which contains many of the new enemies, Gooey Goons, and also Ball 'n' Chains. Down a pipe is the next section, which also contains Gooey Goons, and Blarggs make a reappearance after a 4-level absence. After riding Wire Platforms and Rotating Platforms over lava, Baby Peach must float on the wind to a high area containing a key, then work her way through Ball 'n' Chains, dropping out near a Shy Guy-producing pipe. Next, the player must jump between four moving platforms over a pit of lava and a Super Big Blargg to a locked door. The door leads to a Haunted House-themed area place infested with Gooey Goons. The boss, Gilbert the Gooey appears after this; a huge beige Gooey Goon covered in twenty colorful gems.
