The four players (or one person) will be lined up at the starting line, in cars. The lights will beep twice, and then turn green, letting the player(s) go.
The opening shows players driving in their [[kart]]s to the starting line of a race course, then the lights signal the start of the race.


==Gamplay==
Four players compete to finish two laps around the circuit. Players can move around sharp curves by turning their [[Wii#Wii Remote|Wii Remotes]] all the way. The first player to end two laps wins, though if either several players finish in under a second or none of the finish two laps by five minutes, it is a tie.
This is a racing game. The four players will go through the course twice, pressing {{button|wii|2}} to accelerate and {{button|wii|1}} to decelerate. They will turn by tilting their [[Wii Remote]]. On sharp curves, when the player turns their Wii Remote all the way, for a second or two, the car will start to skid, making it easier to make the tight curves. The first player who crosses the finish line at the end of the second lap is declared the winner of the mini-game.

Kartastrophe is a 4-Player minigame in Mario Party 8.

Overview

The opening shows players driving in their karts to the starting line of a race course, then the lights signal the start of the race.
