From underwater, the four players are seen on a dock above. They jump in the water and turn around, ready to swim.

Gameplay
Players try to swim through the most rings, each worth a point, that show up as players swim along the route. Two or three gold rings, each worth three points, are sometimes produced by a Manta that swims by. Hitting a Blooper, a Sushi, or an orange eel takes away one, two, or three points, respectively. Players who end with the most points win, but if every player ends with the same score, it is a draw.
The goal of the mini-game is to swim through as many bubble rings as possible.

The game is from a rear view perspective. The bubble rings appear as the four players swim through the course. Each bubble ring is worth one point. Sometimes, a Manta Ray will swim by and drop three gold rings worth three points each. Hitting a Blooper will deduct one point, hitting Sushi will deduct two points, and hitting Unagi the Eel at the end will deduct three points.
The ending shows the players swimming through a goal at the end, with the winner jumping onto Toad's boat to do their victory pose. The losers' voice clips are still intact, even from being underwater. If there is more than one winner, they wave in the water. If a draw occurs, the boat leaves, and the players are left in the water.

Ending
The players will swim through a goal at the end, and the scene changes to show them above the water. The winner will jump onto Toad's boat and do a winning pose. If more than one person wins, they will stay in the water and wave. If all players have the same exact number, however, Toad will instead drive away, leaving all four characters stranded in the water, resulting in a draw.

Manta Rings is a 4-Player minigame in Mario Party 4.

Overview[edit]

The scene opens with a perspective of players jumping off of the boat into the water.
