The Snifit Bot looks incredibly large, and is found when Mario is flying from a Cosmic Bullet Bill filled planet to a more technology-based planet, slightly bigger than some others in order to fit The Snifit Bot upon it. By some serious fans that have already started naming things, it is known as the Tech Planet.

The Snifit Bot shoots from its underbelly, which consists of various cannons. It shoots regular bullet bills, and the new homing-missiles, the Cosmic Bullet Bills, at Mario while he attempts climbing up its legs.

Another thing it tries to do is stomp on Mario with its massive feet, while Mario is running around on the Tech Planet.

Introduction
The Snifit Bot's intro as a boss is quite surprising. As Mario is on a small planet, the Mix Planet, collecting Coins, he shoots out with a Boost Star to the next planet, and instantly when he arrives, an alarm alert beeper goes off and The Snifit Bot makes three huge stomps, coming up toward Mario and stomping its feet, which means the other bosses in this game may not be as they were in Super Mario Sunshine, for Mario may not be warned to get ready before the boss begins. He may just not know when a boss might turn up and might not be ready to fight one, and may have nothing to do about it.

Strategy
To beat the Snifit Bot, Mario must run toward its feet and wait until they stomp down, then Jump on them and climb up his tricky-to-survive-on leg, getting to the top where Cosmic Bullet Bills are ready to chase him. Then he must have the Cosmic Bullet Bills ram into the top bulb of the Snifit Bot, first destroying the catch, then the red light to blow the whole thing up.

Climbing Up Arnharcus
First, Mario must jump up on its foot after the bot stomps down on the ground in an attempt to squish Mario, then he must run up arrows, avoiding sharp hooks, also avoiding three Cosmic Bullet bill cannons at the lump of the chain, then collect two Coins, and finally, run past rotating cogs up to where five round holes will continuously shoot Cosmic Bullet Bills at him.

Bowser Jr., Super Mario Galaxy

Megaleg is a boss in Super Mario Galaxy. It is a gigantic mechanical construct with a vague resemblance to an Electrogoomba. It is found in Bowser Jr.'s Robot Reactor, and is owned and possibly commanded by Bowser Jr. Megaleg is incredibly large and lives on a planet just big enough to hold it. It has three long legs, like a tripod, and each leg has various tricks and traps designed to trip Mario up. It has fly-like eyes with huge lights beaming out of them. On top of Megaleg's head is a red cage with a rotating lighthouse-like light on top that contains a Grand Star. Megaleg is much bigger than Digga-Leg, a similar boss encountered in Super Mario Galaxy 2.

Its appearance as a massive tripod is likely an homage to the Martian fighting machines from The War of the Worlds. Additionally, its Electrogoomba-like head may be a nod to the octopus-like appearance of the Martians in the novel.

History[edit]

Super Mario Galaxy[edit]

In Super Mario Galaxy, when Mario enters Bowser Jr.'s Robot Reactor, Megaleg is positioned on the bottom of the Robot Reactor. When Mario uses the Launch Star on the Starting Planet to reach the Robot Reactor, Bowser Jr. appears and orders Megaleg to attack Mario. Megaleg mainly attacks by consistently firing multiple Bullet Bills from various locations on its head, legs, and underbelly. It also tries to stomp on Mario while he is on the Robot Reactor. Mario must jump on one of its three huge feet and climb up its leg, avoiding Bullet Bills along the way. When Mario reaches Megaleg's head, he has to lead a Bullet Bill into the larger cage surrounding the red cage, after which a barrier forms around the red cage and more Bullet Bills are fired. The music also speeds up. Mario must then lead another Bullet Bill into the red cage to release the Grand Star trapped inside and defeat Megaleg.

The concept of climbing atop and moving on a large being was originally intended to be used in the final fight against Ganon in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, but this was scrapped due to the fact that one would be unable to see Ganon while atop him. However, it was later reused in Super Mario Galaxy, much to the excitement of the development team.[1] Megaleg underwent several changes prior to the release of Super Mario Galaxy. In the E3 2006 demo of the game, there was nothing in its cage. The earliest version of Megaleg was labeled "BossCrab", which had a different body design, no nose or mouth, four legs, and a half oval shaped head.[2]

There is a glitch whereby the player can access Megaleg's planet without triggering the cutscene or battle.[3]

Unused appearances[edit]

Super Mario Galaxy 2[edit]

In a Nintendo Power preview for Super Mario Galaxy 2, it was stated that Megaleg would return.[4] This was later proven false, however, with Digga-Leg appearing instead.
