The Sunset Tour was the thirtieth tour of Mario Kart Tour, which began on November 4, 2020, and ended on November 17, 2020. The tour introduced Sunset Wilds from Mario Kart: Super Circuit (making this the first GBA course and the first course not from Mario Kart 7 to make its classic course debut in Mario Kart Tour), which acted as the signature course of the tour. The tour marked the return of Captain Toad and Toadette (Explorer) while also introducing a variant of Peach in her explorer outfit from Super Mario Odyssey. This tour's Coin Rush course was Shy Guy Bazaar, which was reused from the 2019 Holiday Tour. From this tour, the tier cap has been increased from tier 50 to tier 60. The menu's background featured a mesa with a Shy Guy Tent on top as the landmark for this tour. The Fire Bro Cup debuted in this tour, though Fire Bro had already been available in the game since the Hammer Bro Tour.
This was also the last tour that contained the second set of Expert Challenges for players, which started in the Summer Festival Tour.
