The Co-Star Super Jump is a jump that Mario or Luigi can perform in Super Mario Galaxy, though only during Co-Star Mode. To perform jump the player needs to make Mario or Luigi jump then a second player needs to press the jump button at the same time. The jump will make Mario go higher than normal allowing him to reach items such as Launch Stars and Sling Stars. If done at the wrong time then Mario will just jump normally. Mario cannot perform this move in Super Mario Galaxy 2. Mario can still control the direction of his jump when performing this move. When Mario performs this move he looks similar to when he is doing a Backflip.

The Co-Star Super Jump,[1] or Powerful Jump,[2] is a move in Super Mario Galaxy. It can be used by Mario or Luigi during Co-Star Mode only. This jump can be used if a second player aims the Star Pointer at the first player and presses the A Button button at the same time as the first player. The jump makes Mario or Luigi go higher than normal, allowing him to reach items or objects usually out of reach. Mario or Luigi can still control the direction of his jump when performing this move. This trick works even in midair, but it works only once before the player touches a horizontal surface. This move cannot be performed in Super Mario Galaxy 2.
