Western Land is a western town in Mario Land in Mario Party 2. Players were dressed as cowboys, and had "Deputy" in their names. The main attraction was a train named Steamer, who traveled around the board and stops at one of the four train stations. If a player wanted to ride Steamer, they would have to pay his toll of 5 coins. Once on, the player would hit a block that would decide which direction Steamer would go. If it showed Toad's head, they would move forward and stop at the nearest station. If it was a picture of a Goomba, they went backward, again until reaching another station. The Happening Space also made Steamer will move forward to the next station. While Steamer was moving in either way, players that were in the way were knocked back to Start. There was also a Wiggler that owned a milk shop. She would ask players that came by if they wanted to start a Hootenanny for 20 coins. If the player accepted, the fee would be paid, and all the other players would come to the milk shop area. The Item Mini-game is Give me a Break, and the Duel mini-game is Quick Draw Corks.

At the end of the game, a red Koopa Troopa came and alerted the players that the board villain, Bowser the Brash, is robbing the Koopa Bank. A cut-scene then shows Bowser the Brash telling the Koopa Banker to get him more coins from the bank, despite that the bank has no more to give to him. Then, the winner of the game comes to confront Bowser. The Koopa hides in his shell as they engage in a pop-gun quick-draw. Bowser misses, and gets hit in the stomach by the winner's cork. The Brash faints, leaving the winner to be congratulate by the other players, Toad, Koopa, and the Star.

Trivia
*The Japanese version of Mario Party 2 depicts the superstar and Bowser in a quick draw with revolvers. In Western releases, it was changed to a quick draw with pop-guns. As a result of the change, it also makes it more obvious as to who won the gun duel (as originally, the bullets could not be seen, resulting in tense moments before it was revealed Bowser the Brash ended up shot).
*With a total of 114 spaces, the original version of Western Land is the largest board in the Mario Party series that follows traditional gameplay.
*If the player refuses Wiggler's hootenanny offer, it will say "Y'all come back now, y'hear?", Jed Clampett's catchphrase from the TV series The Beverly Hillbillies.

Western Land is one of the playable locations in Mario Land in Mario Party 2. While in Western Land, players are dressed as deputies, and Toad, the host, wears a cowboy hat and plays the guitar. The main attraction is a train named Steamer, who travels around the board and stops at one of the three train stations. If a player wants to ride Steamer, they have to pay the toll of five coins. Once on, the player hits a block that decides which direction Steamer goes. If it shows Toad's head, the train moves forward and stops at the nearest station. If it shows a Goomba, the train moves backward and stops at the nearest station. The Happening Space also makes Steamer move forward to the next station. While Steamer is moving in either way, players that are in the way are knocked back to Start. There is also a Wiggler that owns a milk shop. It asks players that come by if they want to start a hootenanny for twenty coins. If the player accepts, the fee is paid, and all of the other players come to the milk shop area. The Item minigame is Give Me a Brake!, and the Duel minigame is Quick Draw Corks.

At the end of the game when Toad is about to announce the winner, he is interrupted by a red Koopa Troopa who comes and alerts the players that the board villain, Bowser the Brash, is robbing the Koopa Bank. A cutscene then shows Bowser the Brash telling the Koopa Banker to get him more coins from the bank, despite the bank having no more to give to him. Then, the superstar comes to confront Bowser. The Koopa hides in his shell as the two engage in a pop-gun quick draw. Bowser misses, shooting just above the superstar's head, and gets hit in the stomach by the superstar's cork. He faints, leaving the superstar to be congratulated by the other players, Toad, Koopa, and the Star.

Western Land returns in Super Mario Party Jamboree as an unlockable board. It is unlocked after reaching Silver Player Rank. Bank Spaces and costumes were removed, new routes were added, and the hootenanny is now activated by Event Spaces near its location. The board is referenced in Rainbow Galleria on a sign on the second floor.
