Falling Stars are also noted to look much like Starmen, the only difference being the frowned expression on their faces.

A star[1] is an enemy in Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins. Stars are encountered in the star stage mainly, but one star also appears at the end of the secret level of the Space Zone. Stars are treated more like obstacles than enemies. They can be found in clusters forming an impassable wall, and they are sometimes found moving back and forth in space. While stationary Stars are considered level objects, which cannot be defeated, the moving Stars are individual enemies and can be defeated with a Super Star. Stars share a version of the Starman artwork from Super Mario Bros. and are depicted as smiling, in contrast with their in-game frowning expressions.
