Bomubomu[1], generically referred to as cannonball-spitting creatures,[2] are enemies in Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins. These pig-like creatures walk left and right, shooting cannonballs from their cannon-shaped snouts, which are aimed horizontally or diagonally upwards, depending on where Mario is when it stops. Mario can jump on these cannonballs to destroy them. Bomubomu can be defeated with a jump or a fireball. The color of Bomubomu and the cannonballs they fire have three different sets depending on the stage they are encountered, but they otherwise share completely identical behavior. They have light bodies and light balls in the Space Zone's first stage, light bodies and dark balls in the Mario Zone's second stage, and dark bodies and dark balls in the Mario Zone's final stage.
