Spiked balls[1][2] are enemies in Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins. Each of these flashing spiked balls is attached to a chain and moves up and down every couple of seconds, usually in corridors that must be traversed to complete the level. A spiked ball hurts the player if they touch it. They can be defeated by running into them while the player is invincible.
