====Layout====
The six possible contents of this world's [[Mystery Box]] are:
Ia a simple grassland level. [[Princess Peach's Castle]] and the Tanooki-tailed Tree can be seen in the background. When the player starts, some colored blocks are near a stream with a jumping [[Cheep-Cheep]] and a bridge. After [[Mario]] cross it, a [[Goomba]] will chase him. There are two [[Brick Blocks]] and a [[Question Block]] with a [[Super Leaf]]. Other stream with three coins must be crossed, easily with [[Tanooki Mario]] or a [[Long Jump]]. Soon after, an area with Brick Blocks and bushes in the ground are found. Close to this area is a small wall and two Elevators to help Mario get to the top. Above the cliff, there are many dendelions, trees and two Goombas. Ahead are a castle-like wall and many Brick Blocks. In one of them is hidden a device that makes the ground under it rises when Mario spins it (by swinging the Tanooki-tail). Above is a small roof with [[Crate]]s. After the plumber get out of this area, he can use a [[Binocular]] to see Toad teaching how to jump on the Flagpole (failing). Mario can head forward to some [[Tail Goomba]]s, more Brick Blocks, colored blocks. Some land patforms and wooden bridges are found in an narrow path, leadind to more Tail Goombas and a Giant Tail Goomba. Ahead, there is a pond. A small island is in the middle of this pond, with colored blocks and the [[Flagpole]].

World 1 is featured as a background for [[Mario's Figure Skating Spectacular]] in ''[[Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games]]''.
This is the first underground level. The level starts with Mario in front of a torch. A [[Ball 'n' Chain]] is swinging near this place. After pass the obstacle, he will find two Goombas, two Brick Blocks and a Question Block with a [[Fire Flower]] inside. Ahead, there are some crates that Mario can destroy or only jump over them. A {{conjecturaltext|Black Piranha Plant}} is found and, just after, more Brick Blocks. Near to them, there is a spinning platform with other {{conjecturaltext|Black Piranha Plant}}. In the next area, are found two rectangular ? Blocks, stacked Goombas, many Brick Blocks and a [[Checkpoint Flag]]. Soon after, Mario arrives in a small room with a single coin. If he touches it, a trail of coins will appear. After leaving this room, Mario will face with more ? Blocks, [[Koopa Troopas]], stacked Goombas and other Ball 'n' Chain. Some platforms are flying in a small gap and another {{conjecturaltext|Black Piranha Plant}} can be defeated.

World 1 is the first world in Super Mario 3D Land. It takes place in a green field with flowers, pipes and hills in the background. It features five levels, a Mystery Box, and a Toad House. As the start of Mario's adventure, the levels of World 1 are rather basic.

  • Two Goomba Boards and a Fire Flower. Destroying the Goomba Boards causes 15 Coins and a Star Medal to appear. (first try)
  • Three Piranha Plants. Defeating the Piranha Plants causes 15 Coins and a Star Medal to appear.
  • Three Goombas. Defeating the Goombas causes 15 Coins and a Star Medal to appear.
  • A red Biddybud walking around a Fire Flower. Defeating the Biddybud causes 15 Coins and a Star Medal to appear.
  • A golden Mystery Box containing 15 Super Leaves, a P-Wing, and two Star Medals.
  • A golden Mystery Box containing the game's five supporting Toad characters and two Star Medals.
