This level is similar in appearance to [[World 3 (Super Mario 3D Land)#World 3-1|World 3-1]]. The level takes place in the same type of area, though it is at night. Most if not all of the Question Blocks on the ground are [[Propeller Box]]es. The only enemies encountered in the level are [[Sandmaargh]]s, encountered outside the structure, and a lone [[Wallop]] on top. But there was no [[Pokey]]s, no [[P-Switch]] for collecting 64 [[Rainbow Note]]s, no [[Checkpoint Flag]], etc. Also scattered throughout the level are green [[+ Clock]]s, which add 100 seconds to the player's time. By taking the normal path up, the player must head through two enemy-free rooms separated by a platform in which sections of the wall pop out to form a path up to the second room. Another way up is to head to the right side of the structure, then use a Propeller Box to get to a pair of [[Used Block]]s on the side of the platform to get to a platform with a door leading to the first room. Finally, the player can head up to the platform with the first Star Medal, then fly over to a pair of Used Blocks and up to the top of the platform. At the top of the structure is a stone platform and the [[Flagpole]].

This level appears to be based upon [[World 3 (Super Mario 3D Land)#World 3-3|World 3-3]]. The player only has 30 seconds to complete the level, though various Goombas scattered around the level give the player blue + Clocks, which add ten seconds to his or her time. The player stars the level on a platform, landing on one such Goomba. A group of [[Donut Lift]]s take the player to another platform, followed by several more lifts, a second curved platform, more Donut Lifts, and another large platform. Next is a long row of Donut Lifts, then a rather large cluster of them and a large platform; a [[Red Ring]] is on it. After this the path splits in two; on the right side is a wider path of Donut Lifts and a platform; on the left is an area where the player must wall jump up, followed by the platform. The level is designed after [[World 2 (Super Mario 3D Land)#World 2-2|World 2-2]]. The player starts in a cavern-like area with an elevated platform with a [[Snake Block]] switch on it; this takes the player to another area with another Snake Block switch and three [[Question Blocks]]; one provides a coin, another a Starman, and the third a [[Poison Mushroom]]. When the player reaches the end of this path of Snake Blocks, there is a platform with another switch, leading to an area with a Chain Chomp, another switch that takes the player above the spikes at one end of the platform, and above is the midway flag. The Snake Block switch at the end of the platform leads the player outside the fortress; there is a Question Block with a Poison Mushroom, two spikes, and a green + Clock. Back inside, there is another Snake Block switch; along the path, if the player has enough time, he or she can collect the two 1-Up Mushrooms. After this series of platforms is a Warp Pipe, the outdoor takes place in sunset instead of daytime, leading to another Snake Block platform, and sees the [[Paragoomba]]s and the flagpole.

He or she must leap across several rotating platforms to reach another grass platform. Following several more rotating platforms and a grass-covered platform is another, large grass platform; a yellow-spotted orange Jump Block takes the player to a higher platform. The level is a [[Ghost House]] level designed after [[World 8 (Super Mario 3D Land)#World 8-4|World 8-4]]. The player starts on a platform, then must advance to reach an automatically moving platform. The player must dodge [[Boo]]s and [[Spiky Plant]]s here. The platform that the moving platform connects to at the end of its path has several Question Blocks and spikes, one of the Question Blocks containing a [[Super Mushroom]]/[[Fire Flower]]. Lighting the torch results in two Poison Mushrooms and one Super Mushroom appearing. The player must then leap onto a [[Switchboard]] and guide it while passing by the wall sections coming out of the wall. The next section contains a platform with the [[Midway Flag]] and a rotating platform. The Question Block in the center contains a Starman, and hitting it results in three [[Big Boo]]s appearing. The platform behind the rotating platform is a moving platform, and the player must dodge [[Peepa]]s, Spiky Plants, Boos, and Big Boos. The platform then drops to a lower platform at the end of its path; the door here leads to the flagpole.

The player starts on an airship, and must leap across several [[Reversible Platform]]s and Brick Blocks to reach another airship-type platform. A hole takes the player to a section on the inside of the airship. The player can take the [[Warp Pipe]], which leads to a fight with [[Boom Boom]], but the player can also break a secret path of Brick Blocks to pass by the Used Block barrier. The player must then cross several more Reversible Platforms to reach the Airship with the Flagpole.

Special 6 is the sixth of the special worlds appearing in Super Mario 3D Land, and the fourteenth world overall. The world takes place in a sky-based area at night, with a grey checkered ground and various sparkles, hills, and clouds in the background. Its theme is a remix of the normal World 6. There are six levels and one Toad House.
