Bopapodami are hippo-like "enemies" that appear in Donkey Kong Country Returns. They only appear in the Forest area of the game in very few levels. They always seem to have a happy expression on their face. They are minor obstacles that the Kongs must jump on in order to get through gaps the Kongs can't jump across. But they have to be careful, since they can only jump on the Bopapodamus a certain amount of times until it faints and falls into the abyss, killing the Kongs along with it. If the Kongs do not make direct contact with the Bopapodami's head, it will simply swat away one of the Kongs, causing them to lose a life.
Bopapodamuses are a tree-climbing hippopotamus-like species that appear in Donkey Kong Country Returns and Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D. They only appear in the Forest world where a total of fourteen can be seen across two levels. There are six of them in Tippin' Totems and eight of them in Springy Spores.

During the levels, the Kongs must jump on the Bopapodamuses to get across large gaps. The Kongs can only jump on a Bopapodamus four times, after that it falls into the abyss, leaving the Kongs vulnerable to also falling down. If the Kongs do not jump directly on a Bopapodamus's head, it swats them down into the pit, causing them to lose a life.
