They are a special kind of big, multi-colored [[Banana Coin]]s that have all of the Kongs' colors on them. When collected, all of the Kongs receive five extra Banana Coins. There is only one 5-Banana Coin in each world of the game, and approximately three in the hub world, [[Donkey Kong Island]]. These coins are always found buried under dirt piles with the letters 'DK' on them. To release a 5-Banana Coin, the player must step on a dirt pile and press and hold the {{button|n64|B}} button, releasing a shockwave attack that destroys the dirt pile and reveals the special coin.
