Template:Quote2 Klampons are blue-skinned, red-spotted, quadrupedal Kremlings that first appear in Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest. They are the big brothers of Klaptraps, a similar enemy from Donkey Kong Country, and have a big head, large jaws, and bulging eyes similar to theirs. Klampons were eventually succeeded by Krimps in Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble!
History
Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest
Klampons act very similarly to Klaptraps, but are notably bigger and move slower. Klampons attack by repeatedly chomping their jaws while moving back and forth. Diddy and Dixie cannot roll into a Klampon from the side because this injures them, but a Klampon can be defeated from a jump attack, having a barrel or crate thrown at it, from an Animal Friend. In addition, unlike the case with Klaptraps, the Kongs can roll into a Klampon from above, if they roll from a platform higher than it. Klampons have a functional opposite, Spinies, which are protected from jumping attacks but are vulnerable to frontal attacks, such as in Castle Crush, where defeating either enemy may accidentally cause the Kongs to become hurt by the other one. Klampons have the same defeated voice clips as Klomps as well as many other Kremlings, but are mute in the Game Boy Advance version. In the cast roll, Klampons are classified as part of the "Kremling Kuthroats" enemy class.
