The Boo Pipes is a kart that appears in the Mario Kart series. It is a gray variant of Petey Piranha's Piranha Pipes with a Boo emblem on the platform instead of a Piranha Plant.
History
Mario Kart: Double Dash!!
The Boo Pipes was introduced in Mario Kart: Double Dash!! as King Boo's signature kart. It can be unlocked by completing the Special Cup in Mirror Mode. Unlike most heavyweight karts, the Boo Pipes is unique for having traits similar to that of a lightweight kart; low top speed and high acceleration. However, the Boo Pipes is heavy enough to rival the weight of the Koopa King and Piranha Pipes. The Boo Pipes, Piranha Pipes, Heart Coach, and Bloom Coach share the same engine sound. The Boo Pipes' horn sound is highly similar to the Piranha Pipes' horn sound, except that it is lower-pitched.
The Boo Pipes has one of the best acceleration stats in the game, being tied alongside the Rattle Buggy and Koopa Dasher; it is also tied with those two karts in terms of top speed. Lastly, when compared to all the other heavyweight karts, the Boo Pipes loses the least amount of speed whenever it goes off-road. In terms of stats, the Boo Pipes may have been designed to be a heavier version of the Heart Coach, a medium kart with near-identical stats (other than weight).
Mario Kart Tour
The Boo Pipes returns in Mario Kart Tour starting from the Pipe Tour. Much like the Piranha Pipes, the rear handlebar was removed and the remaining one was bent over the platform, making it unusable. It also retains its original tires from its debut game, once again being reskins of the Banana Master's tires, while the steering wheel is now red instead of light green. Unlike the Piranha Pipes, this kart increases the duration of Slipstream boosts and the number of points earned for performing a Slipstream.
The Boo Pipes is not currently obtainable from pipes, and it is not currently part of the Daily Selects lineup. The following table shows its availability by tour.
