The Dondon[1] is a bird enemy that appears in Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins. Dondon slowly swoop down from the top of the screen before flying forward. It appears in the Tree Zone's final stage, as well as the sole Hippo stage. They are defeated through conventional means: a simple stomp on the head will subdue them.

右側からまっすぐ飛んでくる。横から攻撃されるとダメージを受けるが、スピードが遅いので、恐くはない。しゃぼん玉に入っておけば、簡単に踏んづけけられるぞ。[2]

Lazy bird
It flies straight at you from the right side. If it attacks you from the side, you will take damage, but it is not scary because of its slow speed. If you stay in the bubble ball, you can easily step on it.
