Eye Beamers[1] are mechanical, eye-like obstacles that appear in Super Mario Galaxy. They appear on an optional path in the Dusty Dune Galaxy mission Blasting Through The Sand and in the final portion of the Dreadnought Galaxy mission Infiltrating the Dreadnought. They are indestructible enemies that directly emit laser beams from their eyes, damaging Mario or Luigi if he touches them. The side opposite to an Eye Beamer's eye is flat, allowing the player to jump on it and use it as a platform. Some Eye Beamers are stationary while others move, which can allow the player to cross gaps. On the planet with the Ocean Small Turtles, they initially appear facing away from the planet, but once the water is raised, they turn toward it.
