Template:MKTTour The Sunset Tour is the thirtieth tour of Mario Kart Tour, which began on November 4, 2020 and will end on November 17, 2020. True to its name, the tour introduces Sunset Wilds from Mario Kart: Super Circuit, which acts as the signature course of the tour. The tour marks the return of Captain Toad and Toadette (Explorer) while also introducing a variant of Peach in her explorer oufit from Super Mario Odyssey. From this tour, the tier cap has been increased from tier 50 to tier 60. The menu's background featured a mesa with a Shy Guy Tent on top as the landmark for this tour.
This is also the last tour that contains the second set of Expert Challenges for players, which started in the Summer Festival Tour.

The Sunset Tour reuses the Toadette Cup's bonus challenge from the 2019 Halloween Tour for this tour’s Birdo Cup, the Koopa Troopa Cup's bonus challenge from the London Tour for this tour's Baby Rosalina Cup, the Lakitu Cup's bonus challenge from the Holiday Tour for this tour’s Metal Mario Cup, the Dry Bowser Cup's bonus challenge from the Ice Tour for this tour’s Roy Cup, and the Mario Cup's bonus challenge from the Super Mario Kart Tour for this tour's Waluigi Cup. However, while the 2019 Halloween Tour's Toadette Cup bonus challenge (a Time Trial on 3DS Neo Bowser City) had a three-star requirement time of 1:40.00, and the Super Mario Kart Tour's Mario Cup bonus challenge (a Time Trial on N64 Royal Raceway) had a three-star requirement time of 2:05.00, the reused challenge in this tour's Birdo Cup lessened the requirement for three stars by 15 seconds, and the reused challenge in this tour's Waluigi Cup increased the requirement for three stars by 10 seconds, both to 1:55.00.
Signature kart sets
In every cup, the driver which the cup is themed about is raised a tier on each track, making them a three- or two-item driver on that course. Up until the Ice Tour, a kart and a glider were also given a bonus for each race in the cup.

Trivia
- In the Baby Rosalina Cup, GBA Sunset Wilds T depicted Monty Mole in its icon, even though it is only treated as a favored course. A similar incident happened in the Los Angeles Tour’s Wendy Cup, where Rosalina appeared on the icon of RMX Rainbow Road 1 despite only being a favored course.
- The Sunset Tour is the second tour to reuse a post-release Coin Rush course from another tour, namely reusing the 3DS Shy Guy Bazaar Coin Rush course from the Holiday Tour. The first time was the Cooking Tour, which reused the DS Luigi's Mansion Coin Rush course from the 2019 Halloween Tour.
- This is the fourth tour in which the Vs. Mega (opponent) challenge does not appear in the final cup of the tour, the first three being the Tokyo Tour, the Peach Tour, and the Summer Festival Tour.
