Template:Species-infobox Ice Bats[1] are a cyan, icy variant of Bat that appears in Super Mario Galaxy. They only appear in the Conquering the Summit mission in the Freezeflame Galaxy. These enemies act similar to their ordinary counterparts, and attack by freezing Mario or Luigi when he collides with them. When the player goes into their territory, they charge at the player to damage them. Ice Bats can only be defeated by Fire Mario. When they freeze Mario or Luigi, they taunt or laugh at them when they get frostbitten. However, Spinning can make them back away.
Like their ordinary counterparts, their internal filename refers to Swoop.[2]
Ice Bats do not reappear in Super Mario Galaxy 2, though regular Bats do appear.
