The Popgun Pound[1][2] is one of Diddy Kong's abilities in Donkey Kong Country Returns / 3D and Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze. It can only be performed when he is controlled independently, which possible only in multiplayer mode or Tropical Freeze's Hard Mode.
The move involves Diddy firing his Peanut Popguns, producing tremors on the ground that have the same effect as Donkey Kong's ground pound. Therefore, the move can be used to destroy blocks, push DK Plates and trapdoors or stun nearby enemies, shooting them with peanuts at the same time. Despite Dixie Kong and Cranky Kong also carrying popguns in Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, they do not have this specific ability, being only able to pound the ground without shooting projectiles.
Since the Popgun Pound is Diddy Kong's equivalent to the normal ground pound, it can be executed using the same controls.
