A Tail Goomba is a Goomba with a Tanooki tail that appear in Super Mario 3D Land. Its powers were given by Bowser with his Super Leaves. It attacks by swinging its tail like Tanooki Mario.

They are defeated like normal Goombas and Mario can take their Super Leaf after defeat. Some species of Tail Goombas jump into the air towards Mario, trying to catch him with a tail whip. There are also Big Tail Goombas, larger variants of Tail Goombas. A late beta also featured golden variants of Tail Goombas. They attacked in the same manner as the normal variants, but flew further.
