Focus is a command in Paper Mario that increases Mario's Star Power with a single command. It is learned after Mario defeats the Koopa Bros. and frees Eldstar, the elderly Star Spirit. Focus always increases Mario's Star Power by half a bar ( the charge can be increased by equipping the Deep Focus badge). If the Group Focus badge is equipped, Mario's partner will be able to use the Focus command as well. Peach also uses this move when Twink is fighting Kammy Koopa, where it raises Twink's Attack and Defense by 1 each turn it is used.
In Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, Focus was replaced by Appeal, a similar move that charges Star Power based on the audience makeup.
