The Starshade Bros. (Sergeant Starshade and General Starshade) are the two people in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga that teach Mario and Luigi the very important "Spin Jump" and "High Jump" Moves, which are necessary later on in the game. They are Toads, one red and one green, with sunglasses and large teeth and are found in the Beanbean Borderlands. They, along with the Border Bros., are the border patrol for the Beanbean Kingdom and Mushroom Kingdom.
After the Mario Bros. defeated Tolstar while Bowser was stuck in a cannon, Bowser's griping annoyed Sergeant Starshade, who appeared and set off the cannon, knocking Bowser into Tolstar and causing him to lose his memory.
