A Bristles is an enemy in the games, Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble and Donkey Kong Land III. These small hedgehogs replace Spinies from Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest. They are mostly found in waterfall levels (such as Tracker Barrel Trek) and jungle levels (such as Konveyor Rope Klash). Since they are hedgehogs, their quills are harmful, and obviously they cannot be jumped on.

To defeat one, Dixie Kong or Kiddy Kong must make an attack on the front of the hedgehog while the baddie is walking forward, as the rear and top are very prickly. Also, unlike the Spinies, Bristles are actually immune to the Kongs' team up attacks since throwing Dixie or Kiddy at one with just get him/her injured.

Some Bristles can also roll up and hurtle toward a Kong, which makes them virtually invincible and even more dangerous. Fortunately, they only use that attack method in Konveyor Rope Klash.
