User talk:Lcrossmk8
Lcrossmk8 has been blocked indefinitely from editing the Super Mario Wiki for numerous violations of the courtesy policy: edit warring and acting condescending, to name a few. See the block log. |
Rules:
- No flaming, spamming, or vandalism. Any flaming, spamming, or vandalism will be removed.
- Do not remove comments unless they are flaming, vandalism, or spamming.
- Friend requests are allowed, but only if I know you well enough.
- Always remember to sign your comments, but don't worry if you forget. I can just check the history to see who it was.
- I will most likely respond to you on this page, or your talk page. Be prepared for either of those options.
- Have fun!
- I will archive once the page reaches 100 topics, or messages, or whatever the heck they're called these days, or when I just plain feel like it. Don't send the 100th message telling me to archive, because that's just plain irritating.
- After all, remember to be a kid! After all, what's the point of being a grown-up if you're not going to move past your awesome and glorious days of childhood and act like a kid? As my high-school baseball coach once said to me, just let it fly. You're not going to go anywhere if you don't remember to keep your sense of humor about you these days. Just be a kid at heart and play like a champ--now THAT's how you really do it in style.

Warp Cannon[edit]
The reason that your edit on Warp Cannon is getting removed is that the order you wrote only applies to is New Super Mario Bros. Wii, as in NSMB, 1 and 2 lead to 5, 3 leads to 6, 4 leads to 7, and 5 leads to 8. In NSMB2, 1 leads to Mushroom (which is World 7, as you need to match the numbers at 77 to get the Rainbow level), 3 and Mushroom lead to Flower (which is World 8), and Flower leads to World 6. As all three of them are different, there isn't really a "general order" to add to the article. Also, it is unnecessary to have "File:" in front of the images in the gallery. --TheFlameChomp (talk) 19:41, 23 June 2017 (EDT)
Edit Warring[edit]
This is a warning to stop your inappropriate behavior (edit warring) on the Super Mario Wiki. Please adhere to the rules or you will be blocked from editing this site. If you feel this warning was undeserved, you may appeal it. |
Repeatedly undoing an edit, even if it's to converse with the other guy, is considered edit warring. Before going any further with the Warp Cannon page, please talk to TheFlameChomp (talk) to decide the correct course of action. By the time I've typed out this message, he has already sent something to you, but policy states I should say something anyway. Sorry.
On that note, since I made the first edit that caused this, I'll throw in what I think and say the Warp Cannon does differ between games:
NSMB[edit]
1 & 2 -> 5, 3 -> 6, 4 -> 7, 5 -> 8
NSMBWii[edit]
1 & 2 -> 5, 3 & 4 -> 6, 6 -> 8
NSMB2[edit]
1 -> Mushroom (which is 7), 3 & Mushroom -> Flower (8), Flower -> 6 (strangely going backwards)
Yeah, sorry about that, man. I wasn't trying to be an asshole. I was just trying to talk. And yeah, my bad. The Warp Cannon does differ between games, now that you made it clear. I won't do it again. And by the way, where's the message he sent me?
— The preceding unsigned comment was added by Lcrossmk8 (talk).
- Don't worry, this is just a note to remind you what to avoid next time. The message TheFlameChomp sent you is directly above this one. As for your message on my talk page, no, you cannot remove warnings, or any kind of comments really (unless they are vandalism), especially ones given to you by a staff member. 22:13, 23 June 2017 (EDT)
Userpage stuff[edit]
Just an FYI, when you're copying userboxes from another user page (in this case, mine), try to not be so, uh, apparent about it. Like the scrollbox data I have (that long box surrounding the userboxes), I have that because otherwise the userbox would push everything downward. You can use it if you can get the coding to work, but it doesn't appear like you need it (it's screwing with the tabs, btw). Additionally, the link in the YouTube box goes to my channel, so you may want to delete that. And keep in mind that some users have personal images in their userboxes, so you may want to ask them if you decided to take it.
Also, if you want to check how the page looks without actually saving the page, hit the "Show preview" button at the bottom. This way the number of edits are reduced and it doesn't fill the Recent Changes. 22:51, 23 June 2017 (EDT)
Just asking, but were you patrolling me? But yeah, I just wanted to create a scrollbox so I could show everybody the basic information, like favorite game, favorite character, etc. When I saw the coding for it, though, I didn't know if I was able to type it all myself. So sorry if that was rude in any way. Lcrossmk8 (talk) 21:56, 23 June 2017 (CDT)
- Nah, I just keep an eye on the Recent Changes all the time. I see pretty much everything :P
- For the scrollbox, remove the coding you have before and after the userboxes and put this coding above the userboxes (without the nowiki coding):
{| style="float: right; margin-left: 0em; margin-bottom: 0ex; width: 19%; border: 2px solid black; clear: right; background-color: #F6D5BE;" |<div style="height:850px; overflow:auto;"> {|
- and put this at the end:
</div> |} |}
- Truth be told, I stole the coding from Shokora (talk)'s page, then modified it to fit how I needed it too. Took me a while to figure out, though. 23:01, 23 June 2017 (EDT)
- Walkazo was a bureaucrat of the Super Mario Wiki since 2011, and she was a hard worker and a great friend to those that knew her. In March of 2016, she was killed in a car accident. I did not know her that well myself, I've only talked to her once or twice, but I was there the day her brother delivered the news. 17:03, 24 June 2017 (EDT)
- Yeah, sure, go ahead an add my userbox to your page if you want, and I'll take your (rather familiar) userbox as well :) Also, add an extra </div> at the end of the userbox tower before the end |}s, as it appears to be messing with the page coding. 23:38, 24 June 2017 (EDT)
- Also, you've been spending a lot of time on your user page. I know you're just trying to get it set up, but do try to edit some mainspace articles as well. Additionally (I don't know if I mentioned this to you already, probably have, I can't keep track), if you want to check how the page looks without saving, click the "Show preview" button. This way, you can make multiple edits and save it in one go, while avoiding filling up the Recent Changes. 23:50, 24 June 2017 (EDT)
- Okay, uuhh... try to avoid adding things like this and info about the fanbase. 00:14, 25 June 2017 (EDT)
Dammit. My bad. I was hoping I could put some useful information in articles. I guess that means thinking before you do it (DUH, me!). Lcrossmk8 (talk) 23:24, 24 June 2017 (CDT)
- To make a gallery, you would type this:
- View the source to see the code, as I can't get the raw code to show, for some reason. 22:38, 25 June 2017 (EDT)
New Super Luigi U is an expansion of the main game, as such it's considered part of that. That's my best answer, I don't know much about it.
Also, I will take this time to say that you've been editing your userpage a lot. The important focus of the wiki is the content of the main articles. Userspace should come second, though I understand if it takes some time to make some quality edits. 20:21, 26 June 2017 (EDT)
Italics[edit]
Hello! Just so you know, when writing game titles, you should italicize them by putting two apostrophes on both sides. For example, ''Super Mario Sunshine''
would appear as Super Mario Sunshine. Thanks! --TheFlameChomp (talk) 21:25, 29 June 2017 (EDT)
Setting up your signature[edit]
I saw you request help on Porplemontage's talk page about this, and I have an answer for you:
- Go to your preferences page.
- In the "Signature" section of the "User profile" tab, type in the markup for your signature. If you want to use a template signature, you must type something like
{{subst:nosubst|User:Skuchi037/sig}}
. - DO NOT FORGET to check the box that reads "Treat the above as wiki markup".
- At the bottom, click Save, and you're done!
- One last thing: your signature must include links to your userpage and your user talk page.
Hopefully that helps you. (T|C) 17:25, 30 June 2017 (EDT)
Thanks. That does help a lot. Lcrossmk8 (talk)
- Just take a look at User:Alex95/sig. All it is are two images linking to my user pages. 17:55, 30 June 2017 (EDT)
Userspace warning[edit]
Dear Lcrossmk8, It has come to our attention that you are currently in violation of the userspace policy (making excessive userspace edits). Please review the policy and abide by it, or else a warning will be issued. Thank you for your cooperation. |
I've checked your recent contributions and most of your edits have been on touching up your user page and talk pages. Try to find some time to edit some of the mainspace pages a bit more. If you don't do so, you might be given a harsher warning. Thanks! – Owencrazyboy9 (talk) 00:02, 2 July 2017 (EDT)
Sorry about that. I will try not to overload again. – Skuchi037 (talk) 23:22, 1 July 2017 (CDT)
- The reason for this is you having 186 edits on user pages, 73 on the main pages, 33 on user talk pages, 3 on MarioWiki, and 1 on main talk. It is a good idea to keep main+maintalk more than user+usertalk. Also, you may want to press the 'Show preview button so you can see the page without saving. Yoshi the SSM (talk) 21:35, 8 July 2017 (EDT)
RE: Humor for the WIN![edit]
Why, thank you!

RE:Big Boo's Haunt Edits[edit]
Due to a translation error in the English version of Super Mario 64 DS, King Boo is called Big Boo. Since this is an English wiki, that's what we go off of for his role in SM64DS. There is a note of the differences on King Boo's actual page, though. For Yoshi, no, he cannot enter Big Boo's Haunt at all, since no cap can be collected in Peach's Castle. 13:37, 6 July 2017 (EDT)
- No, the point is Yoshi can't get into the course to begin with. The entrance to Big Boo's Haunt is within a Big Boo in Peach's courtyard, which needs to be defeated. Since Yoshi can't damage Boos, he can't enter the course. 16:11, 7 July 2017 (EDT)
Reminder[edit]
Please stop forgetting to use italics on the Super Mario Wiki. This isn't a warning, and it's possible that you made a mistake by accident or without realizing it; this is simply a reminder for your information. If the action continues, then a warning will be issued. Thanks for reading and keep contributing. If you feel this reminder was undeserved, you may appeal it. |
(The edits in question) You've been reminded about italics once before; it's an important editing guideline, so please remember next time. Thanks. Mario JC 01:55, 10 July 2017 (EDT)
RE: Vandalism FAQ[edit]
Depends. If a user joins just for the sole purpose of vandalising, they are blocked immediately. If a regular user who's made constructive contributions in the past starts vandalising, they'll receive a warning, then, if it continues, a block. Mario JC 22:03, 12 July 2017 (EDT)
FAQ Questions[edit]
I noticed that you are asking Mario jc about some stuff on the wiki. Let me show you this. Be sure to read it and see if you have a question already answered there before you ask on someone's talk page. Even then, you are suppose to ask on it's talk page. Yoshi the SSM (talk) 22:28, 12 July 2017 (EDT)
- Yeah, I was actually about to direct you to that link, too. Thanks, Yoshi the SSM. Mario JC 22:32, 12 July 2017 (EDT)
- You're welcome (to both of you). Yoshi the SSM (talk) 22:34, 12 July 2017 (EDT)
Fawful[edit]
I will bluntly tell you that there is a lot more to autism than "being smart" and "having social problems". Unless you have a clear-cut and official citation that demonstrates that Fawful is diagnosed with autism, do not include it on his article. Hello, I'm Time Turner. 23:35, 12 July 2017 (EDT)
- Despite being on the autism spectrum myself, I have a lot of friends and am (somewhat) sociable and talkative, but at the same time, don't see myself as all that smart. There are different levels of autism, like not being able to speak at all or diminished senses, and making an accusation about it toward how a character acts without an official source can possibly offend someone. Be careful when writing things like that.
- Additionally, do not repeatedly undo edits to converse with other users, as that is what's known as "edit warring" (i.e., undo someone else's edit after they undid yours on the same page). If you wish to have a discussion, please do so on someone's talk page. 01:22, 13 July 2017 (EDT)
This is your last warning. The next time you break the rules in any way, you will be blocked from editing the Super Mario Wiki. If you feel this last warning was undeserved, you may appeal it. |
I'm actually going to give you a warning for this (to serve as a reminder not to do this again, and as per warning policy) as you edit warred on three different pages(!) before continuing the discussion elsewhere. 01:41, 13 July 2017 (EDT)
- MarioWiki:Maintenance is a good place to start. 17:40, 13 July 2017 (EDT)
- I read this last night, and now that I am able to write on my computer (yes I have been here for some time, but I forgot until now), I am able to post this from a paper that I wrote for college. It says, "Autism is a disorder that effects mental thinking and communication in young children, though it is carried throughout life." And later on, "Symptoms are "trouble interacting, playing with, or relating to others, having little or brief eye contact with others, not pointing to objects to call attention to them, unusual or repetitive movements, such as hand flapping, spinning, or tapping, delays in developmental milestones or loss of milestones already achieved, playing with a toy in a way that seems odd or repetitive, not using or understanding language as a child that age typically would, and not exploring surroundings with curiosity or interest (a child seeming to be in his or her "own world")" (KidsHealth)." KidsHealth is a website. Since many of these are for children, it would be very difficult to place Fawful in this category without proof. Yoshi the SSM (talk) 17:45, 13 July 2017 (EDT)
Writing[edit]
Please avoid flowery and informal writing on articles. There's no need to describe a character with over-the-top adjectives, as simply mentioning them by name is fine; and saying something "should be familiar" sounds like you're having a conversation with the reader, which we also don't want.
Try to keep what you write formal, informative and professional. More information on writing style can be found here. Mario JC 03:16, 13 July 2017 (EDT)
- You don't need to ask if your edit is good. Just do your best, and if there's a problem, it will be fixed, but do try to keep writing standards in mind, like what Mario jc (talk) told you earlier. 18:06, 13 July 2017 (EDT)
RE:Shroob Edit[edit]
Evil? Yes. Dark? Eh, not really. The Mario series is generally known for being comical, even at its darkest moments. "Creepy" and "disturbing" are also rather subjective descriptions. 20:30, 13 July 2017 (EDT)
Awards Presentation[edit]
Hello, I see that you've signed up to present M3. However, it doesn't seem like you have a Mario Boards account under any name, which is one of the requirements to present as we must send you the results there. Unfortunately we can't allow you to present otherwise, so if you would like to do so, please register for the forums; it should be relatively easy and only take a few minutes. Please get back to us as soon you can, as we need to know either your account name or that you are backing out of presenting. Thanks! - Turboo (talk) 00:03, 14 July 2017 (EDT)
SMB3[edit]
Okay, um, good attempt, but Lord Bowser (talk) and I have taken up the task of making the pages for Super Mario Bros. 3. Additionally, there's not a lot of info on the page you created, so it may get deleted if more info isn't added soon (I can't expand it myself at the moment, because my Game Boy Advance died :P). Thanks for the help, though. 16:02, 15 July 2017 (EDT)
Chain Chomps[edit]
I was not aware there existed large, spherical, pure-black, pointy-toothed dogs. Hello, I'm Time Turner. 17:59, 15 July 2017 (EDT)
- Dog-like implies that they share a resemblance to dogs, be it physical or behavioural but to most people reading it without context, they would assume that "dog-like" means that Chain Chomps look like dogs. They would then see the image of a Chain Chomp and be very confused. A given subject's appearance is more obvious than its behaviour, so saying "dog-like" without any further explanation is just a non-sequitur. It's best to leave that stuff for the main body, in which their behaviour is explained in more detail. Hello, I'm Time Turner. 18:37, 15 July 2017 (EDT)
Edit summaries[edit]
I'd recommend against outbursts like this. Summaries should be used for things like "Fixed typo" or "Expanded info", not laughing maniacally. 21:29, 16 July 2017 (EDT)
- Nah, nothing wrong. A little humor is fine. Just letting you know not to go too overboard. 21:41, 16 July 2017 (EDT)
Adding on to this, no need to take on a condescending tone in your edit summaries either. LB (talk • edits • forum) 18:08, 18 July 2017 (EDT)
There is no need to be so aggressive in your edit summaries. They are meant to simply explain what you've done to the article; saying "removing unnecessary bullet point" would have been sufficient. Please try to use better judgement next time. LB (talk • edits • forum) 20:59, 27 July 2017 (EDT)
RE:Vandals[edit]
- Vandals are weird :P Also, was a little blunt with my earlier answer: You can help with reverting edits if you can, so long as you don't engage in an edit war or conversation with the vandal, but the blocking can only be done by members of the staff. If there's no staff member online (which has been rare, lately), there's always the admin noticeboard staff members watching it will get a notification from. 18:56, 17 July 2017 (EDT)
RE:Raccoon Mario vs Tanooki Mario[edit]
I did miss that, actually, yes. However, "the big difference is that Raccoon Mario can fly, while Tanooki Mario cannot. Also, Raccoon Mario appears in 2D games, while Tanooki Mario appears in 3D games." is not completely wrong, but it's not correct, either. Tanooki Mario can fly in Super Mario Bros. 3, and the final statement makes it seem like the transformations are exclusive to those genres, which they aren't in Tanooki Mario's case. 19:47, 18 July 2017 (EDT)
Millennium Star[edit]
Before any of your edits, the intro stated that Tumble was given life by the Millennium Star. Your subsequent edit then stated that he is the Millennium Star. I believe that it would be difficult to give life to something while also being that something. Also, per what the Doc said. Hello, I'm Time Turner. 20:17, 18 July 2017 (EDT)
- That's a logical leap and speculation, which is not permitted on the wiki. Also, the message is pleasantly harmless, so I might as well leave it there. Either way, that doesn't give you the right to delete it. It's not your talk page. Hello, I'm Time Turner. 20:19, 18 July 2017 (EDT)
- That is not true. The game clearly shows the Millenium Star exiting Tumble's head and saying that he's "seen all you've been doing from here, inside Tumble's head." They are not one and the same. Hello, I'm Time Turner. 11:52, 22 July 2017 (EDT)
RE: List of rumors and urban legends about Mario[edit]
The sections are sorted by individual rumours, not by games, so there's no need. Mario JC 23:35, 20 July 2017 (EDT)
Best way to not have edits reversed? Only say things that are definite. Don't say things that are theoretical, don't say things that are subjective, and please keep and encyclopedic tone with grammar to match. Wiki basically taught me how to speak, so for me, it's natural. Also, only say things if it's something that's been neglected to be said, like how I changed the page for Giant Stu to undo the misconception that there was only one in the whole game. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 23:08, 20 July 2017 (CT)
- Advice: don't get angry when your edits are reversed. It happens to just about every user, really, usually at the start of them editing. I had a number of my edits undone when I started, and I still have some of them undone today. Keep in mind that the wiki is maintained by several users, many of which have ideas or ideals that may conflict with someone else's. By submitting your work to something as open as a wiki, you're automatically agreeing that anyone can edit it at anytime. 00:37, 21 July 2017 (EDT)
RE:Mario Boards Presentation[edit]
You can make your presentation however you want to. Usually, people go with a comic, as it's appealing to look at and simple to do. Really any form of media works as long as it's engaging. Once you're finished, you send it in to Anton and Turboo on the forums so they can look over it, and then they will send you more info to include once the time comes to get the presentation up in the thread that will go up when the Awards Presentation starts. More info can be found here. If you have any further questions, I recommend contacting those on the Awards Committee, like Anton, Turboo, or Superchao, as I do not know everything :P 16:07, 21 July 2017 (EDT)
Courtesy[edit]
You need to start being more polite to people here. Remarks like the start of your comment here are quite demeaning, especially to an experienced editor, and yelling at someone, like this is absolutely unacceptable, especially when you're enforcing policy incorrectly. You're already on a last warning, so I don't want to ban you without explaining things first, but if you continue to violate courtesy policy you will be temporarily banned. Yoshi876 (talk)
- Dagnabbit, Y876 :P Yeah, what you said is not okay, for a few reasons. In order:
- The guy's French. He can speak his native language all he wants to.
- Cursing and swearing is allowed, so long as it's used in moderation. You can learn more here.
- You can't "hear" text, and typing in all caps isn't going to get your point across any better.
- These types of outbursts are becoming frequent from you. If they keep up, someone will have to ban you, as you are already on a last warning for the discourteous edit warring earlier. 18:59, 21 July 2017 (EDT)
This can be considered undermining admin authority, i.e. telling admins what to do. May want to avoid remarks like that in the future, and instead just post the troll in the admin noticeboard, optionally saying what they've done as well. You did good reporting him quickly, though. 22:12, 22 July 2017 (EDT)
Signature[edit]
Your signature is in violation of several rules. First of all, it must be created: here. Then please follow the instructions here. Once you do, it must fit in the following box, which it currently wouldn't:
. It also has to include your username in some fashion as stated on rule one here. Please fix it. --™ The 'Shroom 19:00, 21 July 2017 (EDT)
Idle Chatter[edit]
It's been pretty uneventful, which is a good thing. I'm still chipping away at the Mario's Time Machine articles. How about you? Hello, I'm Time Turner. 21:55, 23 July 2017 (EDT)
- That's good, and you shouldn't be bragging. Reverting vandal edits is just another part of contributing to the wiki alongside adding information and discussing changes. Also make sure that you don't get overzealous and report someone for being a vandal when they made an honest mistake. Hello, I'm Time Turner. 22:00, 23 July 2017 (EDT)
- As an addendum to this, do not report people based on gut feelings. If someone's mass-blanking pages or adding random vulgarities to pages, then fair enough, but it's entirely possible for new users to do things that they don't even know is against the rules. Assume good faith first, and continue from there. Hello, I'm Time Turner. 20:48, 27 July 2017 (EDT)
M3 Presentation checkpoint[edit]
Heya, I'm just sending you a message here since I know you're on the wiki more often than the forum. Right now is currently the halfway point for working on your presentation, with it being due by August 4th. As the PM states: "Please let us know that you received this PM, and what your current status is in terms of progress. If you feel that you need to drop, now is the time to do it, but if you have any concerns please let us know so we can address them and find a solution that works best for everyone. If you do not reply, it will be assumed that you are not working on the presentation and will be replaced." When you're done with it be sure to send it privately to me on the forum. I'm looking forward to what you've got!! - Hypnotoad (T|C) 03:16, 27 July 2017 (EDT)
External link redirects[edit]
Hi, when making redirects, avoid what you recently did. Launch title redirecting to Launch title's Wikipedia page doesn't really work the way you intend it to. I'm sure users will probably just go to Wikipedia anyways. Thanks! (T|C) 19:46, 27 July 2017 (EDT)
Brobotics[edit]
Do you have a source for your Brobotics redirect? Does Mr. L call Brobot that in the game? 17:40, 28 July 2017 (EDT)
- The full quote is here: "Just check this thing out! This bad boy is sporting the latest in brobotics. Meet my new friend... BROBOT L-TYPE!" I wouldn't count that as a name. Hello, I'm Time Turner. 17:41, 28 July 2017 (EDT)
Links[edit]
You were told off once before for gluing a bunch of links together in a single word, and that still applies now. You also completely removed the link to Super Mario RPG for no discernable reason. Hello, I'm Time Turner. 20:22, 28 July 2017 (EDT)
- Again, you're presenting links in a way that is not obvious, which is just reader-hostile, plus you were already told not to do this. If you do see a mainspace article that has these kinds of links, change them. Besides, not all of the Mario RPGs have that item, namely Paper Mario: Sticker Star and Paper Mario: Color Splash. Hello, I'm Time Turner. 20:27, 28 July 2017 (EDT)
- Please provide examples of this, because again, you were already told not to do this. Also, I realize now that you didn't remove the links, but you hid one of the links behind Mario when Mario (franchise) is a much more obvious link. Doing this does not help navigation, nor does it add convenience for readers. This is not good. Hello, I'm Time Turner. 20:30, 28 July 2017 (EDT)
- The entire Mario article could be replaced with "Mario is a human," and that would be less wordy, but that doesn't help anyone. Elaborating on certain subjects is often necessary to make sure that nobody is left confused, because otherwise, you risk losing valuable information. I will also remind you that you have already received many warnings and cautions for your actions, and if you fail to listen to them and learn from what you've previously done, that is certainly worth bringing up. Hello, I'm Time Turner. 20:33, 28 July 2017 (EDT)
- If you continue to repeat your mistakes, your warnings and cautions will also be repeated. It's not more complicated than that. I genuinely think that you have the potential to be a good editor, but it is absolutely necessary for you to listen to what everyone else has told you. Hello, I'm Time Turner. 20:36, 28 July 2017 (EDT)
- So long as you're learning, that's what matters. Hello, I'm Time Turner. 20:54, 28 July 2017 (EDT)
Administrators[edit]
That decision is entirely up to the existing admins. Regardless, I'm still going to be editing as usual. Hello, I'm Time Turner. 23:10, 29 July 2017 (EDT)
- It takes more than being a regular to be promoted. In any case, that's not my priority in the slightest. If it happens, then so be it, but I'm not editing just so I can become an admin. Hello, I'm Time Turner. 23:20, 29 July 2017 (EDT)
Cards[edit]
It looks silly when they're all listed together on the recent changes, but if someone was looking at any of the articles individually, they wouldn't know why the template was removed unless I supplied the reason. Hello, I'm Time Turner. 18:30, 30 July 2017 (EDT)
RE:Yoob's Inside Story[edit]
No. Redirects are meant for official terms that "redirect" readers to subjects whose name either changed over time, has more than one name, the name can be spelled several different ways, or is meant to link to a section in a different article. "Yoob's Inside Story" would not make a good redirect. You can learn more here and here if you need to. 22:00, 30 July 2017 (EDT)
- Yeah, but it's an unoffical, fan-created term, which has no merit in redirects. 22:06, 30 July 2017 (EDT)

Bowser[edit]
This is a list of all the voice actors that have portrayed Bowser. If a game's not on the list, then either Bowser didn't speak or the wiki has no idea. It's worth pointing out that Bowser's laugh in Super Mario 64 is (likely) a slowed-down version of Boo's laugh. Hello, I'm Time Turner. 00:23, 3 August 2017 (EDT)
- Nintendo hasn't done a good job of crediting its voice actors, to be sure. Also, may I ask why you don't use colons (:) when writing comments? Generally, you use colons to space out discussion and you stop using colons to indicate either a change in discussion or simply that the indentation is too deep, but I've yet to see you use colons. Hello, I'm Time Turner. 00:33, 3 August 2017 (EDT)
- Both Boo and Bowser have an edited version of each other's laugh, but they're probably both pitch-edited. Nut they might also just be edited stock sound effects from another work, who knows. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 01:09, 3 August 2017 (CT)
- It's just that your comments look out of place when they're continuing a discussion while not being indented at all. When every other user is doing it, I don't understand why you would do something that makes it harder to hold a conversation. Hello, I'm Time Turner. 16:00, 3 August 2017 (EDT)
- And yet you're not using them here despite this being a one-one-one conversation? Besides, there's absolutely no need to put unnecessary focus on your comment. They're the same as everyone else's comments. If you're having a discussion with someone, they're going to notice when you reply to them. Hello, I'm Time Turner. 16:10, 3 August 2017 (EDT)

Some advice[edit]
Sorry you're having trouble with being courteous towards other users. This message to the anonymous user was not okay and very rude. All they wanted to do was talk. Some advice to keep in mind is to treat everyone, whether you know them or not, with respect, as if you're talking to your friends. If you feel like something could aggravate you, either ignore it or ask someone for help. 16:20, 17 August 2017 (EDT)
- All you have to do is just not do that again and you'll be fine. Maybe go over the courtesy policy and other policies a few times if you need to. 20:21, 17 August 2017 (EDT)
RE:Question[edit]
No. Your IP will be temporarily blocked upon your initial ban and will run out after about two days. However, any attempts to edit, whether anonymously or by creating a new account, while your ban is operational will result in your IP address getting blocked for a certain length of time, and possibly lengthening your standard block.
In other words, editing while blocked is a bad idea. 22:45, 17 August 2017 (EDT)
- If editing anonymously becomes a problem, then the IP address(es) will be blocked for a length of time. The good faith aspect is always in play, even when dealing with blocked accounts, and we trust that the blocked user will get the hint that they should stay away for the time being. If they try to edit while they're blocked, well then that's their problem.
- And, no, as far as I'm aware, there is no rule that says "you cannot become an admin if you have been previously blocked". Yes, we take warnings and blocks into account when deciding, but if the issue isn't an issue any longer, then it doesn't matter much. Becoming an admin is certainly a goal set by several users, but it shouldn't be a primary one. The purpose of the wiki is to provide accurate and up-to-date information about the Mario series, so as long as you focus on that, we'll come to you if we think your expertise is needed. 21:47, 18 August 2017 (EDT)
Whistle[edit]
It's Warp Whistle and not Magic Whistle because it was Warp Whistle in Super Mario All Stars. The Recorder from Color Splash has a different function and as such should probably be split. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 01:45, 19 August 2017 (CT)
RE: So...many...PICTURES![edit]
Responding on his behalf, Meta Knight (talk) is Director of The 'Shroom, and as such is responsible for putting up the issue and uploading all the pictures made for the issue. It's nice of you to thank him for uploading so many pictures, but try not to interrupt him when he's in the process of doing it all, since it'd only serve to slow it down. Thanks! Welcoming users[edit]
While it is encouraged to be friendly toward other users, the {{welcome}} template is no longer being used in order to avoid creating several talk pages containing nothing more than the template and wasting space. On the other hand, please don't create a talk page for the sole purpose of welcoming the user, though you can welcome them if you are messaging them for a different reason. Also, don't welcome them until they have made at least one constructive edit because they could create an account just to create an account and not use it (or become a vandal). 18:07, 19 August 2017 (EDT)
Heads up[edit]
I strongly recommend against jumping into the middle of a conversation with a different user, unless you actually have something relevant to add. Something like this can be considered discourteous to the addresser and the addressee and can make conversations confusing if it keeps up. 21:25, 19 August 2017 (EDT)

Subjective content[edit]
Just want to clear up that, yes, while most fan content is subjective or not allowed, the Spiny Shell's fan name is an exception of a case. We have references of other media sites referring to the Spiny Shell as the "Blue Shell" (something we don't do on any other page as far as I'm aware) due to how popular the term is, despite it not being the official name. This wouldn't fly on any other page, for example, we don't have references of sites calling Mario "Red Plumber Guy", but because of how widely excepted Blue Shell is, it's an exception. But it doesn't matter how widely a fan-created term is, the official name overrules. "Also" is the correct word to use on the page. 22:55, 29 August 2017 (EDT)
RE: Ground Pound[edit]
Need I remind you that you are still on a last warning for discourtesy. Keep your wits about you, even if you're joking. You may be trying to be funny, but, even if you say you're joking, you can still be hurtful and get in trouble for it. Sometimes it's best to just accept why your edit was reverted and move on.
The Ground Pound is a famous move, yes. But we don't say that, do we? So why would we say "infamously"? Both terms are subjective and not officially stated, hence why it was removed in the first place (granted, Doc could've specified that when he made the edit instead of the very vague summary he gave). 23:15, 31 August 2017 (EDT)
- It wasn't an edit war, by the way. Doc made an edit, and then you reverted it. If that had continued, then it would've been an edit war. 23:24, 31 August 2017 (EDT)
- Can you blame me for the vague description? That was an absurdly baffling thing to be on a page for a "famous" move for who knows how long. I was just trying to comprehend it. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 22:26, 31 August 2017 (CT)
Musical[edit]

Blocked users[edit]
Hey, I get that you're trying to be friendly, but posting a message to a blocked user isn't all that great of an idea. If anything, it could end up making the situation worse. The user could become antagonized and end up causing more problems once the block runs out. Seriously best to just leave blocked users be. If a message needs to be posted, the admins will take care of it. 21:55, 1 September 2017 (EDT)
- I love listening to video game music. My media player cycles through about 100 video games, with about 10-100 songs in each. The crossovers like Brawl are large, though. At the moment, it's currently "Astral Observatory" from Zelda: Majora's Mask. 22:03, 1 September 2017 (EDT)
Indenting discussions[edit]
All right, I'm going to ask you kindly to indent your comments when participating in a discussion. You're breaking the flow of discussion and making it harder to follow the discussion by not indenting, and unless you're discussing something that's completely irrelevant from the rest of the discussion or the discussion has already used too many indentations, there's no reason for you not to indent your comments. Hello, I'm Time Turner. 22:55, 2 September 2017 (EDT)

RE:knock, knock...[edit]
Of course it's me. Who else would answer on my talk page? :P
Anyway, you were banned due to some repeated snarky comments towards other users, even after you've been told several times to stay in check. Remarks like "Are you for real?", telling staff what to do, etc. Your behavior has been inexcusable for some time now. I realize how young you are and that you're learning as you go, but these issues are not being fixed. Joking remarks are fine if they're done in moderation and it's clear that you're joking, but it's best to leave them out of edit summaries, proposals, etc. because they may end up making someone else, along with you, look bad. You're on a last warning for discourteous behavior, which means any more warnings are unnecessary, and your next block will be permanent.
Several users are willing to help you, but please talk to others in a kind and respectable manner. You appear to be doing fine with every other aspect, it's really just this one that you need to work on. 22:10, 3 October 2017 (EDT)
- From what I've read and heard, might be best to stay away from GameFAQs. We have a forum or our own if you feel like talking about stuff. 22:31, 3 October 2017 (EDT)

New articles[edit]
Okay, I may have been a bit hasty with the deletion of the new Go, Goomba, Go! article, but it'd be good practice to start off with more than a sentence in the article. Before creating an article, it is highly encouraged you work on it elsewhere, such as your project page, unless you're able to post the full content in one go. What you did at first was a stub article, which is unacceptable. 23:06, 7 October 2017 (EDT)
- I know not everyone likes being told what they're doing is wrong, but I personally take it as a learning experience. If I end up goofing up somewhere and someone tells me otherwise, I'll learn from that and make the corrections to my behavior. ...I'll admit it may sometimes take more than one attempt to get that to stick, though :P Point is, there's nothing wrong with being told you're wrong. Usually, someone is just trying to help. 23:13, 7 October 2017 (EDT)
So long as you listen to other people's advice, you'll be able to keep up the good work. Hello, I'm Time Turner. 12:04, 8 October 2017 (EDT)

RE:Blocking policy questions[edit]
Blocks can normally be discussed through PMing an admin on the forums. The discussion will then be brought to the attention of other admins and will be discussed further. You will be notified of the result once a decision is made. More info on unblocking can be found here. 17:21, 8 October 2017 (EDT)

Minions Quest[edit]
Hi there. Thanks for adding to the Minions Quest page story section. I'd just like to let you know that if you continue to add to this, it's a good idea to link to characters or places when they are mentioned for the first time in that section. It helps guide the reader through the different happenings within the story. MarioComix (talk) 00:49, 9 October 2017 (EDT)
Proposal[edit]
Nope, that definitely wasn't intentional. Thank you for letting me know. Hello, I'm Time Turner. 23:43, 9 October 2017 (EDT)
Wow[edit]
That is a really long quote there. It would work in a List of Quotes page, but should probably be shortened for the character page. "If we survive this next trial, Lord Bowser awaits us." or "We'll be at our king's side before the day is done!" are my suggestions. 19:08, 14 October 2017 (EDT)
- Okay, so Time Turner shortened it as I was typing (and responded), but yeah, quotes really shouldn't be the largest paragraph on the page. The quote is still in the history, so once a quote page is made for the game, the information can be copied over. Also, the Princess Shroob quote correction seems fine to me. 19:17, 14 October 2017 (EDT)
Long[edit]
It happens from time to time; something that you've spent hours on can easily be struck down. In this case, it's really unnecessary for such a long quote to be at the top of the article; it's supposed to give a succint introduction to the character, and a lot of it isn't strictly relevant to Captain Goomba. Hello, I'm Time Turner. 19:15, 14 October 2017 (EDT)
Voting on proposals[edit]
Hello, I've noticed that fairly consistently when you vote on proposals, your argument is something along the lines of "everyone has a detailed argument, so I'll pick random" or "I'm joining the winning side." Please do not do this; it in fact violates the rules. You can "per" someone, but unless you believe strongly either way, you aren't supposed to vote at all. You should read through everyone's arguments if you want to vote and are confused. If you're still confused by the end of doing that, don't vote at all. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 01:39, 15 October 2017 (EDT)
- Then remove any and all illegitimate votes, sil vous plait, or at least give them a legitimate reason. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 17:31, 15 October 2017 (EDT)
Princess Birthday[edit]
Hi! Docky here! Just wanted to say that there is no way in the Underwhere that an obscure, American-written book inspired a video game with a not-even-remotely similar plot made 19 years later. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 22:03, 17 October 2017 (EDT)
Proposal[edit]
Since the proposal had been incorrectly extended I figured that the deadline had already run out (it gets tricky when dealing with different time zones for example the recent changes on my account says that the proposal ended 3:45 minutes ago). And since the deadline had already passed the proposal had already ended. Chester Alan Arthur (talk)
Giving warnings[edit]
Anyone is able to give a warning to other users (although admins are exempt from warnings). However, it's usually best to err on the side of caution and only give them when necessary. They shouldn't be given out like candy. Hello, I'm Time Turner. 16:12, 27 October 2017 (EDT)
- You get notified whenever someone replies to your talk page. I just happen to be on the wiki when that happens. Hello, I'm Time Turner. 16:15, 27 October 2017 (EDT)
Two Minor Things[edit]
1. My nickname is The Black Lightning, not Green Thunder (though I do like that you used any nickname)
2. You might want to think about archiving your talk page sometime soon. This is done by moving the current page to User talk:Lcrossmk8/Archive 1. Place {{talk archive}} at the top of the archive.
That's all, I guess...

Nintendo Badge Arcade[edit]
Can I ask you to clarify your logic for the Nintendo Badge Arcade proposal? Your vote should not be based solely on gut feelings, especially if they rely on esoteric and unrelated elements like "the Energizer rabbit". Hello, I'm Time Turner. 23:22, 27 October 2017 (EDT)
- Just to make sure you're aware of it, you're now both supporting and opposing the proposal. Hello, I'm Time Turner. 23:55, 27 October 2017 (EDT)
RE:Work and Play[edit]
You've definitely been doing better with your edits. You're doing fine as long as you don't get too hyper when talking to others.
Regarding your votes here and regardless of what you've told Time Turner above, you need to decide. You can't both support and oppose. 11:50, 28 October 2017 (EDT)
Spammers[edit]
Number one: Conversing with spammers is something you usually shouldn't do. Most of them will not care, though there are a few instances where an actual conversation can happen.
Number two: The second part of that is incredibly unnecessary. Telling people to stay off the wiki isn't the right message we should be sending out. Instead, it should've read something like "If you want to talk about stuff like this, feel free to join our forum!" 19:14, 28 October 2017 (EDT)
- Seriously best to just undo their edits and move on. If they look like they're struggling, then a message can be sent, or an admin will take care of them if they are causing trouble. 19:36, 28 October 2017 (EDT)
1-Up Mushroom edit[edit]
I removed the statement on the 1-Up Mushroom page that is it the first extra live pickup in video game history because Xevious (released in 1982, vs 1985. for Super Mario Bros.) has an item that gives an extra live when picked up, which not only makes the claim unsourced, but also clearly false. You then re-add the statement the next day, as is, without adressing my reason for removing it in any way, and making it even worse by bumping the false claim in the lead instead of relegating it to our dubious Trivia sections. Why do this? --Glowsquid (talk) 10:21, 30 October 2017 (EDT)
Admin stuff[edit]
Hey. I appreciate you trying to help, but when someone contacts a staff member for something, it becomes an admin issue. There isn't much you can do, so jumping into the middle of things may end up making things more complicated or confusing for the user trying to contact an admin. Even if someone isn't online at the moment, best to just wait it out. 18:16, 4 November 2017 (EDT)
Indents[edit]
Please indent your talk page comments. As Time Turner has told you, not indenting breaks the flow of conversation and make sit unclear if you are replying to another comment or starting a semi-new topic. In short, it makes everything hard to read.
(--) 22:23, 4 November 2017 (EDT)
- Noted, but that doesn't mean there should be no indents. There's a fine line between too much and too little. Yes, at some point the indents need to stop (I'd say around five, six or seven?) because it's hard to read after that. But it's also hard to read if people have indented their comments three times and then you come along with no indents. Indenting is kind of an unwritten rule around here (or maybe it is written and I haven't seen it) and if teh entire community is doing it, it's not fair to everyone else if you don't.

That was my proposal to begin with. The onus is on me to make the necessary changes. Why are you thanking me for doing what I'm supposed to do? Hello, I'm Time Turner. 18:01, 5 November 2017 (EST)
- Keep your ego in check, buddy. Your archival of the proposal let me notice that it had passed, but describing my following edits as "feeding off" your edit is skeezy. Hello, I'm Time Turner. 18:07, 5 November 2017 (EST)

Proposal regarding moles that are not the same even in the slightest[edit]
According to the rules, each proposal gets up to three deadline extensions, and this one has gone through two. Furthermore, it is not decided unless one side has three more than the other, while this has a difference of two. Finally, even if it were over, the result would be "No consensus," not "Fail," due to the aforementioned difference of two. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 20:44, 7 November 2017 (EST)
Warning[edit]
This is a warning to stop your inappropriate behavior (rude comments) on the Super Mario Wiki. Please adhere to the rules or you will be blocked from editing this site. If you feel this warning was undeserved, you may appeal it. |
You've been warned for this once before, and your recent comment on Howzit's proposal definitely crosses the line. Assume good faith for everyone on the wiki, and especially don't dismiss them as a joke no matter what you believe. Hello, I'm Time Turner. 01:25, 12 November 2017 (EST)

Astro-Lanceur (talk) beat me to it, but it's best to not continue reverting the action. Essentially, the Mario Party 10 artwork is newer and more detailed, originating from 2015, with The Top 100 reusing Luigi's from 2014. 21:08, 23 November 2017 (EST)
- Mario got a new artwork for The Top 100, whereas Luigi did not. Mario also has Super Mario Odyssey. I agree Luigi's can change if there is a new image available. Might want to bring it up on Luigi's talk page. 21:25, 23 November 2017 (EST)

- Again, why are you asking me that question? Hello, I'm Time Turner. 21:51, 24 November 2017 (EST)
- Pardon, but I'm not a bottomless well of information. Hello, I'm Time Turner. 21:57, 24 November 2017 (EST)
I'll answer your question for you: the people at the ESRB are bonkers. That's about as good of a reason as you'll get. 21:59, 24 November 2017 (EST)
Reminder templates[edit]
If you intend a message to be "just a polite reminder, and nothing more", you should not leave an official template. Those should only be used when a user is breaking a rule, not simply doing something that bothers you. 21:17, 4 December 2017 (EST)
Private Goomp[edit]
Actually no he isn't Captain Goomba is just telling him that it brings back memories for him. If it was Private Goomp, then he would've risen from a regular goomba to Private Goomp sometime between the crash and reuniting, which Couldn't have happened due to Bowser being "lost" Furthermore, when first met, Captain Goomba immediately refers to him as Private Goomp, meaning, he's already known throught the ranks. no evidence supports Goomp being that specific goomba.Pikmin theories (talk) 22:50, 7 December 2017 (EST)
Hmmm..... I suppose you have a point..... although I was kind of under the impressinon the Captain was referring to what Goomp said before the first battle with the trio......Pikmin theories (talk) 23:03, 7 December 2017 (EST)
Although.... wouldn't he already be dressed in his outfit if it was him though at his corresponding rank?Pikmin theories (talk) 23:08, 7 December 2017 (EST)
Ehh... I don't really get it, I'll just take your word for it. Personally it still seems like he's remembering before changing the subject (hence Goomp's confusion) and it's just another generic goomba in the barrel agreeing with the cap...... than again do we know which side the Cap's on? anyway hard to tell.... It IS Captain Goomba after all.... (Procceds to run into wall) Who put that wall there? Pikmin theories (talk) 23:20, 7 December 2017 (EST)
Removing votes[edit]
There is a process to remove votes. Your vote went through that process. And frankly, no, it wasn't valid: hypothetical scenarios mean nothing in the present. Hello, I'm Time Turner. 21:55, 17 December 2017 (EST)
- Read this section, and then read why it was removed. Also, don't give such a vague defence of your vote as if that totally justifies it, and there are many, many, many scenarios where certain votes would be entirely invalid. For a concrete example, any fan votes are immediately removed. Hello, I'm Time Turner. 22:02, 17 December 2017 (EST)
- It's not that complicated. Users have already outlined why your vote was removed. Hello, I'm Time Turner. 22:09, 17 December 2017 (EST)
Redirects[edit]
Redirects are only unnecessary when [...] the search function takes the user to the correct page without said redirect.
Just letting you know that the redirect World 8-Castle (New Super Mario Bros.) was deleted because it is unnecessary; no other page has the title "World 8-Castle". The correct page doesn't need the identifier, so it doesn't need the redirect. It may appear to be inconsistent, but the same thing occurs with Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels and Super Mario Bros. 3 for example. In the future, if something was deleted for a reason, bring up a discussion before you immediately recreate the page that contradicts said reason. 23:51, 18 December 2017 (EST)
BLOF[edit]
"BLOF" is her. Lol. Her old username was "Baby Luigi On Fire." DKPetey99TCE
- I think "stupid alien spaceship" to describe "BLOF" is fairly fitting, since my character design was designed after captain parts in Spore: Galactic Adventures and everyone has a stupid alien spaceship in that game. Ray Trace(T|C) 21:45, 23 December 2017 (EST)
- Worth noting the "on fire" part is still used on Steam, as I've found Mario Kart Wii karts posted by that account for GMod. I think? Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 22:29, 23 December 2017 (EST)
- That is most certainly me. I've used the "OnFire" suffix in other places, recently changed my display name on that account (mostly for Left 4 Dead 2 reasons, because I have a survivor Baby Luigi and the name causes confusion when a Special Infected kill comes up when I'm not playing as him). Sometimes, plain "Baby Luigi" is taken and "BabyLuigiOnFire" has a little bit more personality than just Baby Luigi. Ray Trace(T|C) 22:35, 23 December 2017 (EST)

Wario[edit]
The pic being interpreted in many different ways is exactly why we don't take its word for it, because it's overly vague and it doesn't have a place as a definitive statement in the personality section. And I know Wario isn't necessarily evil, but, he's still not necessarily a good guy either; it's not black and white, and I interpreted that picture that Wario is training Waluigi to be just as bad as him, which is why I made that Bowser comparison; additionally, Bowser "trains" them too in Mario Power Tennis's opening, that doesn't make him a good guy just because he's training them to get better. Ray Trace(T|C) 18:37, 24 December 2017 (EST)
- Let's not make assumptions around my intentions on removing information based purely because of the subject matter at hand and not because I'm not being honest about wiki editing, because that always ends badly.
- Again, that is only your interpretation. My interpretation is that he wants Waluigi to be just as a good bad guy as he is. This is why we don't put either of our interpretation into the article, because, again, it's extremely vague and this type of information does not belong in personality sections, unless the personality portrayed is very obvious and the fact that we are arguing about our interpretations in the first place means that it is not obvious. And just because Wario cares about another character who has been consistently portrayed as a goon doesn't necessarily make him "soft" nor "nice", it simply means he likes Waluigi, which is already detailed in the "interactions with other characters" section. Furthermore, is that picture your only proof that Wario has this soft side? Because you make it out as if that picture is only one of the many times Wario has been acting contradictory to his overall personality. Ray Trace(T|C) 19:07, 24 December 2017 (EST)
- Your analogy doesn't work, because the relationship between Bowser and his son is far more clear cut out than Wario and Waluigi are, and we see a lot of examples of Bowser having a soft side towards his son, examples include Mario Party: Island Tour, Super Mario Sunshine, Fortune Street, etc. On the other hand, this one picture is your only example of this so-called soft side of Wario, and Wario doesn't even look soft in that picture, he's more like "you need to man up if you want to compete with those loser Mario Bros." rather than "Oh you're struggling with this? Let me help you out, my friend!", which is again, just reiterated information from the "interactions with other characters" section. Ray Trace(T|C) 19:19, 24 December 2017 (EST)
- And that fits well enough in the interactions with other characters" section, without any extra strings attached or any extra assumptions. I don't see why Wario's treatment towards Waluigi should get its own paragraph in there. Ray Trace(T|C) 19:42, 24 December 2017 (EST)
- And to me, it looks like he's caring in that area only to stroke his own ego, or to use Waluigi just to gloat for himself. Also I really don't think he's "morally ambiguous" as you think he is, games like WarioWare, Wario Land: Shake It, Mario Super Sluggers, etc. clearly has him doing some of these things only for the advancement of his own goals rather than simply being a good Samaritan and helping others out. Also, I'd argue that being driven by contempt for Mario and greed is another type of bad and a similar mindset to what one has when they think of world domination: self-gain at the expense of everyone else, so morally, it's on the same side as world domination. Ray Trace(T|C) 19:53, 24 December 2017 (EST)
- That's why I believe we avoid putting our opinions and interpretations into articles. If there was more solid evidence, such as written text, bios, or cutscenes that actively show it, then it can be noted. But vague things like that is why I removed it, because of how loose interpretations of Mario characters are. Ray Trace(T|C) 20:05, 24 December 2017 (EST)
- I don't really ponder about the morality of characters in this franchise to be honest. It's the same franchise where characters smack each other into electric fences and characters immediately arguing each other who gets to construct the land of their dreams. It's best not to overthink things. Ray Trace(T|C) 20:11, 24 December 2017 (EST)

Your vote was removed for a good reason[edit]
Read. The. Rules. Hello, I'm Time Turner. 22:10, 1 January 2018 (EST)
- Look. Hello, I'm Time Turner. 22:13, 1 January 2018 (EST)
- The point of removing your vote is that your vote is null and void. Come back when you actually have a good reason to oppose it. Hello, I'm Time Turner. 22:16, 1 January 2018 (EST)
- Oh my god, are you really that arrogant? Your vote was removed because three users, including an admin, voted against it. Look at the reasons why your vote was removed before telling me that it was good. Hello, I'm Time Turner. 22:18, 1 January 2018 (EST)
- Why are you attempting to add back your vote, then, and why are you telling me that I removed your vote without looking? Hello, I'm Time Turner. 22:23, 1 January 2018 (EST)
- No, you do not have the right to oppose the nomination when your reasons were literally deemed to be insufficient. Hello, I'm Time Turner. 22:26, 1 January 2018 (EST)
- It does not work that way. You don't get to say that after multiple users, including an admin, voted to remove your opposition. Hello, I'm Time Turner. 22:30, 1 January 2018 (EST)
- Attempting to insinuate that I'm angry really doesn't invalidate anything that I've said, and you shouldn't have to be told to not shoot your foot off. Listen to other people. Hello, I'm Time Turner. 22:35, 1 January 2018 (EST)
- It does not work that way. You don't get to say that after multiple users, including an admin, voted to remove your opposition. Hello, I'm Time Turner. 22:30, 1 January 2018 (EST)
- No, you do not have the right to oppose the nomination when your reasons were literally deemed to be insufficient. Hello, I'm Time Turner. 22:26, 1 January 2018 (EST)
- I'm just going to jump in here and say that your vote was removed, which means you shouldn't have added another without some discussion somewhere. Yes, your new vote was different from your original one, but, to quote Baby Luigi, there are major issues. The tables actually look terrible on mobile devices, going off the screen, and there is an improvement tag on the page, which automatically disqualifies Super Mario 3D World from nomination. There are still issues here, so your vote to oppose should be readded once the problems are fixed, not before. 22:31, 1 January 2018 (EST)
- I'm going to jump into this as well, since I'm the one who voted to remove your vote... twice may I add. You can't abuse the system like that, keep it featured, ignore everyone's comments and reinstate your vote for the third time without addressing the serious problems the article has. That's not how this system works. Ray Trace(T|C) 15:18, 2 January 2018 (EST)
- Why are you attempting to add back your vote, then, and why are you telling me that I removed your vote without looking? Hello, I'm Time Turner. 22:23, 1 January 2018 (EST)

For the tables, what do you think of this as a solution? I tried to do that but it is controversial. It is good because it is shorter, more compatible, and IMO it is not necessary to have the descriptions. It is bad because it does not have the descriptions and is long when viewed on mobile, but at least it does work. --Super Mario Fan 67 (T•C•S) 23:06, 1 January 2018 (EST)
Quotes[edit]
Just to let you know, not every single line, or even the vast majority of lines, should be included on the quote subpages. They should be kept to the most relevant lines for every character, if possible. Hello, I'm Time Turner. 23:54, 1 January 2018 (EST)
- Keep in mind that this also applies to quotes that are functionally identical to one another, i.e. they demonstrate the exact same characteristics of the speaker. Hello, I'm Time Turner. 23:57, 1 January 2018 (EST)
- You really should think about what you're including and add to pages constructively. Hello, I'm Time Turner. 00:05, 2 January 2018 (EST)

RE: Comment removal[edit]
Per MarioWiki:BJAODN: "Commentary should make the entries funnier." Saying something like "great grammar" (bad grammar), in an archive where nearly all entries revolve around bad grammar, isn't that funny. The opening sentence also doesn't need a comment as it isn't a BJAODN entry. Mario JC 23:02, 8 January 2018 (EST)
- To add to this, comments on BJAODN are really best added for newer entries. Leaving a comment on an older post is just an unnecessary addition. 21:27, 16 January 2018 (EST)
Re:Luigi in Mario Odyssey[edit]
Literally confirmed in the Nintendo Direct. Hello, I'm Time Turner. 23:21, 15 January 2018 (EST)
World 7 NSMB[edit]
You do realize that World 7 (New Super Mario Bros.) lists the levels. The levels themselves have their own pages, much like how WMOD deserves the same. DKPetey99TCE
RE:Sequels and follow-ups[edit]
I think Nintendo may have confirmed those themselves, but I honestly can't find anything. The game uses plenty of assets and mechanics from Wii, so I would consider it a sequel. 22:08, 16 January 2018 (EST)
RE: Luigi edit[edit]
The phrase itself. Idioms like that don't fit on a wiki page. There's nothing wrong with how it's worded now so there's no need to change it. Mario JC 22:10, 20 January 2018 (EST)
Edit conflicts[edit]
It's a tad hypocritical to complain about me "edit conflict"ing you, followed by you making four back-to-back edits that cause me to get edit conflicted several times back-to-back for 40 whole seconds. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 23:52, 22 January 2018 (EST)
- Well don't complain about it and then go on a consecutive-edit-fest, OK? Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 23:54, 22 January 2018 (EST)
- Hat trick? You're speaking in obscure 50s slang again, don't do that. Then again, I'm the person who only just now realized that Kersti's name isn't "Kertsi"... Doc von Schmeltwick (talk)
- I actually typo'd that as "Kertsi" initially because it was a random short character article and I didn't really care for her. Ray Trace(T|C) 23:59, 22 January 2018 (EST)
- Hockey? Dude, I live in Missouri, not Nova Scotia. You can't reasonably expect me to know a term from an incompatible environment. Also, I don't like sports because they smell like kale. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 00:12, 23 January 2018 (EST)
- Eek, big city. They always have this playing in the background. Though the toothed bird might make it spookier... Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 00:24, 23 January 2018 (EST)
- Doc, В хоккей играют настоящие мужчины. You should know hockey terms like a real man because real men play hockey. Ray Trace(T|C) 00:40, 23 January 2018 (EST)
- But I'm more like Vivian.... Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 01:12, 23 January 2018 (EST)

Choco Mountain[edit]
Why do you find it annoying? It's rather short, the obstacles are fairly easy to dodge, and it looks like delicious chocolate. I kinda like it, myself. Granted, I've only played the MK64 version.... Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 00:29, 26 January 2018 (EST)

SMB3 White Block[edit]
The white block easter egg in Super Mario Bros. 3 is a very well-known easter egg.
Just watch this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=owRYdqX4twM LuigiMaster123 00:23, 27 January 2018 (EST)
- I'm not going to revert your edit though as the info about the appearance of the easter egg in Celeste is already included in List of Mario references in third-party video games. LuigiMaster123 00:26, 27 January 2018 (EST)
New Story[edit]
Yes, it is indeed a new story. Hence why the Invincishroom, which originally was an evil-looking but still believable mushroom given by a shady guy which gave Mario food poisoning solely due to being foreign food was changed to actually being a poison mushroom (called an "Invincibility Shroom") plucked by one Goomba and his hypocritical companions' combined auras of stupidity. The very inclusion of Little Fungitown in that mode caused an unfortunately-necessary retcon in that they didn't want to defend a town full of Toads, while they might have been less apprehensive if there was a Koopa living there. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 03:55, 28 January 2018 (EST)
- The scene with the Koopalings is irreconcilably different. Not only is Ludwig fought differently, but the scene Bowletta siccing the Koopalings on the Bros. is completely different. Also, the original Invincishroom was indeed intended to be an Invincishroom. That's why the explanation was getting "bean fever" through food poisoning and not just having eaten a Poison Mushroom. Bowser's amnesia through getting conked by a falling Goomba is also new, as originally it was just intended to be from the impact of getting shot from Tolstar's cannon by Sergeant Starshade. Also, don't talk to people like you did to me, or you might be put back on last warn. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 22:39, 28 January 2018 (EST)
- Also, how did you not know about the white block trick in SMB3? It's how the first warp whistle is obtained, has been on here for ages.... Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 22:40, 28 January 2018 (EST)
- I'm going to point out Dr. Toadley replacing Psycho Kamek as an irreconcilable difference. Hello, I'm Time Turner. 22:51, 28 January 2018 (EST)
- There is at least inconsistency too. Spangle appears in a level where he has meet someone, but Spangle's dialogue (where he hasn't seen anyone) remains the same. And the later can't be before the former as Mario and Luigi can't meet Spangle before the Ultra Hammer which is before Mario got Bean Fever. And the level played is before that is seen. If it wasn't for the fact that the Mario series has no cannon, this would be a surprise.
- As for what Nintendo said, they say new as well, though this is on their website: https://www.nintendo.com/games/detail/mario-luigi-superstar-saga-bowsers-minions-3ds. But neither untold (unfold is the closest) nor new is mentioned in the very beginning of it (including it's introduction in the main game). Yoshi the SSM (talk) 23:05, 28 January 2018 (EST)
- That doesn't change how it was clearly retconned. Hello, I'm Time Turner. 23:07, 28 January 2018 (EST)
- I can't really say that it fits that definition 100% of the time. Besides what have been mentioned, the only thing that can put it under that definition is the Piranha Bean decided to eat Prince Peasley due to Bowser's Minions earlier. Most of the story is new to the main game (as the Koopalings are never seen until Bowser's Castle, yet they appear throughout Beanbean Kingdom in this mode. Even then, this could of helped caused Fawful's risen self esteem along with Cackletta's revival as Bowletta.), and this is the only thing that can get it out of the retcon state. Currently, what the article says is good as it is. Yoshi the SSM (talk) 23:27, 28 January 2018 (EST) Edit: and yes, I have seen the trailer. Yoshi the SSM (talk) 23:29, 28 January 2018 (EST)
- Really? If it helps, I will add the definition I Binged.
- "revise (an aspect of a fictional work) retrospectively, typically by introducing a piece of new information that imposes a different interpretation on previously described events" Yoshi the SSM (talk) 23:35, 28 January 2018 (EST)
- It is not a "theory" that it is new. Captain Goomba did not exist back in 2003. Period. Just a personality-less Goomba in a barrel with no effect on the story other than being a tutorial for using Luigi and Mario at the same time. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 23:42, 28 January 2018 (EST)
- And an expansion is still a revision, as it makes things different. Which is what a revision is. By definition. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 23:46, 28 January 2018 (EST)
- That is in no way the definition of revision. You know how updates to games will make them "v1.8" or "v2.5" or things like that? Those are revisions. By definition. A revision doesn't hae to make everything different, it has to make something different. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 23:50, 28 January 2018 (EST)
- Again, your definition of "revision" is outright wrong. Nix that definition from your mind and burn it. Otherwise this conversation will go nowhere. Also, Mario 64 and Mario 64 DS are incomparable to SS and SS+BM, as the platformers mentioned are not as story-driven as SS was, and as such come off as different games entirely from each other, and not an updated re-release with a few changes like the SS ones do. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 00:02, 29 January 2018 (EST)

- "Betray the continuity?" What the Düsseldorf does that mean? It's a retcon, plain and simple. There were no Mecahwful/Mecha-Fawfuls in 2003. They didn't exist in-universe, even. None of the remake-exclusive stuff did. At all. Also, SM64 and SM64DS are two totally-different games in terms of story, to which I'm citing Yoshi's irreconcilably-different role between them. It's less a retelling and more a For want of a nail reimagining. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 00:14, 29 January 2018 (EST)
- OK, we've provided numerous things proving that there's been retconning, while you've provided your unbacked claims of them being "too similar" to be different. If that's the case, let's merge Goombo and Goomba, as they're near-identical despite being different things! Yoshi's roles between 64 and 64DS are irreconcilable. It's not a retelling, it's a "For Want of a Nail" reimagining. It looks like it's going to be the same at first, then something different happens that throws everything off and makes it different. - "They're reconcilable because they're both on the roof." If that's the case, then SMB the game and SMB the movie are reconcilable because they stand on the ground. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 00:46, 29 January 2018 (EST)
- Yes, the roof thing does have to do with the story. No, they are far from the same something to do with the story between SM64 and SM64DS. Talk to someone else about this, I grow tired of this. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 00:55, 29 January 2018 (EST)

Русский язык[edit]
меня зовут Малыш Луиджи. Как вас зовут? I'm self-taught mostly, and I've recently acquired a taste for Russian stuff so I wanted to learn more about them. I've learned how to transcribe Cyrillic into Latin through...uh...looking at Mario characters names and memorizing what each symbol meant. Ray Trace(T|C) 23:39, 28 January 2018 (EST)
