The Super Mario Wiki contains thousands of images and music files that we try our best to keep track of, from the smallest to the largest. Every file that's uploaded requires a license template, which acknowledges the copyrights of Nintendo and ensures that all files are organized and categorized correctly across the wiki. When uploading a file, you'll see a dropdown box that lists the various license templates used on the wiki. To add a license template, simply click on the dropdown box and select one from the list. After you've uploaded the file, the selected license template will appear on the file page, and the corresponding category will be applied to the file. If you're not sure what type of license should be used for a file you want to upload, see the examples listed below.

Game sprite / Game 3D render: A singular or set of sprites or 3D renders taken from a video game. Be aware that some sprites look 3D and some renders look like pixelated sprites: knowledge of the game in question is needed to properly label its image.
