Short Version Theme Song[edit]
This article lists lyrics for the "short version" of the theme song, but where is this version used? I was curious, so I went through every episode one-by-one but did not encounter it. I'm probably going to double-check later, but if it's only used once that seems remarkable enough to be noted somewhere, perhaps in a trivia section if not in the main body. What to do with "Ashita ni Nattara" and "Banana Tengoku"[edit]

List them both here 4-6-0
Unlike other translations of the show, he Japanese version of includes a different theme for the opening and the ending (with both being named "Ashita ni Nattara" and "Banana Tengoku" respectively). Neither of these themes are listed here, however, they both appear in a short CD titled "Donkey Kong - Ashita ni Nattara...", having a vocal and a "karaoke" version, as well as in Donkey Konga 3. With these two songs making a relative amount of appearances outside the show, is it worth giving them separate articles? It's worth noting that the album and Donkey Konga 3 versions are "extended" versions.

Create articles for both of the songs[edit]
- Camwoodstock (talk) Hear us out here. We would be fine with this, if we also split the main theme in English from this article as well. Honestly, we're shocked the main theme for this cartoon is merged like this when Mario Brothers Rap and Do the Mario has been split since goodness-knows how long. Now, the form this article can take could vary; it could be unique articles for all 3, it could be a united article for just the two opening songs and then a separate article for Banana Tengoku, but the point stands we feel there is merit to giving these songs (and the English opening, of course) their own articles split from this one.

List them both here[edit]

- Camwoodstock (talk) Secondary option, and to be honest, we don't even know if enacting this option in particular really needs proposal. It's a song associated with the Donkey Kong Country cartoon! It feels like such a no-brainer inclusion here!
- Power Flotzo (talk) Per all.
Do nothing[edit]
Comments[edit]
@Camwoodstock: Good point, but if we did give the English theme song a page, what would we call it? Hewer (talk · contributions · edit count) 03:28, November 13, 2024 (EST)
- The Konga games, as well as the cartoon as a whole, are kind of a blind spot for us, so apologies if the English theme song is in there and is already named. If nothing else, though, the conjectural "Donkey Kong Country theme (television series)" should suffice, and also disambiguate it from the song actually called "Donkey Kong Country Theme" in Konga 1. ~Camwoodstock (talk) 16:36, November 13, 2024 (EST)
Split theme songs from this page[edit]

Split theme songs 5-1-2
Last month, it was voted that we include the Japanese theme songs on this article because all other songs from the show are listed here, including the English theme song.
However, it makes sense to give theme songs their own article, like we do for Mario Brothers Rap or Do the Mario, as mentioned by Camwoodstock.
That's why I propose to split all three theme songs from this page and give each of them its own article:
- Donkey Kong Country (television series) theme song (the title is open to discussion)
- Ashita ni Nattara... (the Japanese opening theme)
- Banana Tengoku (the Japanese ending theme)
The voting options are the following:
- Support: split theme songs: Split the three songs listed above, but don't split the songs that appear in just one episode
- Support: split all songs: Split every song listed on the page, even the songs that appear in just one episode
- Oppose: leave the theme songs here: Don't split any song from this page

Support: split theme songs[edit]
- Jdtendo (talk) Per proposal.
- Starluxe (talk) Sure
- Axii (talk) Per proposal
- Dainn (talk) Per proposal. I actually didn't know we had pages on Do the Mario and the Mario Brothers Rap. These have the same purpose, and in particular I don't see why Do the Mario can have a page but not these.
- FanOfYoshi (talk) Why did we not actually get to that beforehand?
Support: split all songs[edit]
- FanOfYoshi (talk) My preferred option.
Oppose: leave the theme songs here[edit]
- PrincessPeachFan (talk) Again, we don't split the rest of the songs. Why should these be any different?
- Rykitu (talk) Per PrincessPeachFan.
Comments ("split theme songs" proposal)[edit]
If we don't split the rest of the songs, then why should these three be any different? PrincessPeachFan (talk) 07:42, December 22, 2024 (EST)
- The other songs are specific to an episode whereas the theme songs are found in the whole series. We do a similar thing with the List of The Super Mario Bros. Super Show! songs from which the theme songs are split. But I can add a "Split all songs" option if it makes more sense. Jdtendo(T|C) 07:58, December 22, 2024 (EST)
What would be the name for the English theme song then? I was thinking of a title like Donkey Kong Country (theme song) or something similar. Kaptain Skurvy 12:31, December 28, 2024 (EST)
- "Donkey Kong Country (theme song)" would imply that the theme song's actual title is "Donkey Kong Country", which would be misleading because there is no known official title. "Donkey Kong Country theme song" (using "theme song" as part of the name rather than as a parenthesized identifier) could work as a conjectural title or, if we want to be more specific, "Donkey Kong Country (television series) theme song".
